My Favorite Quotes Of All Time
Mark Twain once said one of my favorite quotes of all time, "The two most important days in your
life are the day you were born, and the day you find out why." Perhaps this is a question I have
ask myself every since I read it about ten years ago. The day we know for sure what impact we
want to do in life is the day that our past experience as well as the once that we did not understood
become unambiguous. We can put our history with its experiences into a correct point of view,
perhaps as a training to get from point A to point B. We can obtain a clear perspective and shape
the road before us with particular objectives in mind. Such as training, education and alternatives
for where we are headed. This particular paper was so helpful to me in many ways. It opened and
cleared my thoughts; it gave me a fresh perspective.
Adaptability:
I have found myself often living one day at a time, in other words, as one may say, going day by day
or even going with the flow of things, which can be a good thing as well as a bad thing. However, in
my readings I have understood that "Adaptability" may not always be the right thing to do. For it
is a theme that waits patiently and unwearyingly for things to happen on there own. On the other
hand, this theme may be the reason I am still doing what I am doing, working with different kinds
of people. Perhaps, God only knew when He created me that in order to accomplish the task and
purpose He entrusted me I would need adaptability. God knew

My Favorite Quote Analysis
My favorite quote will always be by Sappho in which she says, "Someone, I tell you, in another
time will remember us." She was right. She's remembered for being a gay poet and is
immortalized despite a lot of her works not being found completely. It's one of my favorite quotes
because identifying as a nonbinary queer person who also likes girls, I can relate to Sappho a lot
when she writes about her desire for love and personal heartbreaks. This quote also brings me ease
as even in "another time" someone will still remember me. I think we all want to leave a legacy of
some sort, and for me I want my legacy to be centered around my experience and accomplishments
as an American born Punjabi artist and social activist, who was also highly active in the LGBTQ+
community. I want someone to remember me because it is a vicious cycle that people of color and
members of the color in the LGBTQ+ community get forgotten in history. History is white– washed.
But the idea that I will do enough in my life to be remembered in some shape or form, reminds me
that my efforts and failures as a Punjabi artist and social activist are just part of a legacy I am starting.
Moving on, my strength and determination did not magically appear one day. I had a lot of
amazing people who are a part of my support network who helped show me what healthy self love
and growth is supposed to be. One of the people I will be highlighting is my AP English teacher.
Candice Ligator, was one of the best, and one of my favorite teachers in my high school career.
She was a big part of my support system when it came to being a trans and queer student who had
a lot of family issues. She was also a big inspiration to me as she told us stories full of struggles
growing as a teacher. She talked about how starting off as a teacher at first made her cry every
night, showing me that it takes persistence to be adept in a profession. Her choices on the pieces
of literature she taught were engaging as they touched upon feminism, gay rights, and race. This
allowed me to explore both my interest in writing and in social justice. Reading about personal
experiences from Mary Shelley, Oscar Wilde, and Ralph Ellison was inspiring as it allowed me to
see that I can

The Giver Sameness Quotes
A Closer Look at the Sameness "It wasn't a practical thing, so it became obsolete when we went
to the Sameness." (84) The Giver, by Lois Lowry, is from the perspective of a twelve year old boy
named Jonas growing up in a Utopia. At the Ceremony of Twelve, where every person that turns
twelve receives their life–long "job", Jonas finds out he has been selected to be the Receiver of
Memory, the most honored of elders. The current Receiver of memory, who Jonas callsthe Giver,
transfers memories of color and feelings like pain and joy to him. As he receives each memory, he
learns of a life outside of the utopia. This book proves that being perfect and the same as everyone
else is not as great as it sounds. The Utopian society of sameness in...show more content...
Without choices, the people are missing out on important life lessons that can help you in life.
People can learn from mistakes, they can learn from consequences. "Asher ran through the
standard apology phrase rapidly, still catching his breath." (3) One of the rules in The Giver's
society is that you must apologize each time you break one of them. If someone is given the choice
to apologize, they will understand why they apologize and realize their mistake. If they are forced to
do it, it becomes worthless and doesn't mean anything. "Two children–one male, one female–to each
family unit. It was written very clearly in the rules." (8) Another rule in The Giver's society is that
there is a limit on how many children you can have. In our society, if you want a another child you
have the freedom to have another child. Without choices, there are no mistakes and no experiences
of consequences. Without these crucial building blocks of society, there is no learning and no self

Examples Of Integrating Quotes
Integrating quotations is when a writer places a quote п»їп»їinto
п»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їhis or her writing. п»їп»їп»їп»їWe as writers, often
integrate quotations into our work. Integrating quotes allows readers to see credibility in our
writing. Dropping quotes without a warning, starting or ending a paragraph with a quote and
giving little information, or even giving too much information, are all examples of how integrating
quotes is done incorrectly. However, there are several ways to fix these mistakes. One way is to
signal the quote is coming, allowing the reader to be looking out for it. Another way to fix it is to
give guidance to the reader, tell them what you think about the quote and why you put it there,
creating a link between the two. Just as you create

Quotes On Anne Frank
Anne Frank Essay: What do you think your life would have been like if you were in the
Holocaust? It may seem like a terrible situation, but one girl ,Anne Frank, seemed to always find the
good in people. The last words in her diary were "In spite of everything, I still believe people are
really good at heart." These last famous words of Anne Frank let the world know that know matter
what happens ,there is always good in people. Anne's family faced many problems and fears in the
annex. From, the diary, Anne left ,I agree with Anne' quote. I am siding with Anne because Mr.Frank
was selfless, trusting, generous, and willing. Mr.Frank cared and thought for other people. He is

A couple acts in the entire book clearly showed me this ,these acts were shown by Mr.Van Daan
when he was being selfish with, rude to his own son, and his all around negativity.
On page 83, the following dialogue takes place: Mr.Van Daan:(Pushing Peter roughly) Haven't you
done enough.
This one small quote has many powerful words ,used towards Peter. Shown by the quote above he
is rude towards Peter, Peter was trying to help ,but Mr.Van Daan just yelled at him. Everytime, one
person in the annex made a tiny mistake ,they got yelled at by Mr.Van Daan.
On page 95, the following dialogue takes place: Mr.Van Daan: Just a minute. There's something I'd
like you to do for me. Mrs.Van Daan: Putti, where are you going? What do you want?...... Peter:
Father says he's going to sell her fur coat. She's crazy about that old fur coat.
This conversation from the Van Daans is talking about how Mr.Van Daan is going to sell his
wife's favorite coat. This shows how selfish Mr.Van Daan really is. If you would have read a little
further , he says he is selling it because he wants to help the homeless on the streets. It was really
,so Mr.Van Daan had money to buy cigarettes with. Mr.Van Daan is straight up mean, rude, and
selfish. I acknowledge, that by these actions from Mr.Van Daan ,may make you disagree with the
quote. I know that not everyone is perfect ,and even Mr.Van Daan has some really good times. Not

1. The most important factor responsible for the Earths four seasons is that the Earth rotates around
the sun tilted on its axis at a 23.5Лљ angle. The axis is always tilted in the same direction which
means that for half the year the Northern Hemisphere is pointed more toward the sun and for half the
year the Southern Hemisphere is pointed more toward the sun, giving us our seasons. The hemisphere
that is facing more directly toward the sun has more direct sunlight and less beam spreading, which
makes the sunlight more intense. Variations in solar radiation between the equator and the North
Pole would be the smallest on June 21, the summer solstice. In the winter the North Pole would not

Because blue light is the shortest wavelength of the visible portion of the there is a higher
proportion of blue than any other longer wavelength light. Rayleigh scattering is also responsible
for the red sunrises and sunsets. When the sun is just over the horizon the light has a greater
distance to travel, this long path increases the amount of Rayleigh scattering. As the beam travels
a long distance the shortest wavelengths of radiation are depleted, this means there is a higher
percentage of longer wavelengths so it takes on a reddish tint. Another kind of scattering is Mie
scattering and it is responsible for gray skies. This scattering is caused by microscopic aerosol
particles that scatter sunlight. Rather than scattering particles all over Mie scattering is
predominantly forward, so it does not scatter much energy backward to space. On days when
there are a lot of aerosols in the air from haze or possution the sky appears gray because the whole
range of the visible part of the spectrum are scattered towards the surface. Mie scattering can also
make red sunrises and sunsets look even redder than they would with just Rayleigh scattering. There
is also nonselective scattering which is done by water droplets present in clouds. When these
droplets are all together in clouds they reflect all wavelengths equally, so clouds appear white or gay.

Greed Quotes In Macbeth
They say greed is the root of all evil. This is especially shown in Macbeth, the desire of power
becomes an apparent symbol throughout the play. How does a man loyal to the king turn so easily
from the slight temptation of the crown. After the murder of Duncan Macbeth is seen picturing an
imaginary dagger, "Is this a dagger which I see before me,/ The handle toward my hand? Come, let
me clutch thee." (2.1.33–34 Macbeth) Macbeth isn't even seen remorseful for the cruel deed he just
commits; to a man who he swore an oath of loyalty to. Macbeth shows signs of greed and gluttony as
the infatuation of power settles in him throughout the plot.
Macbeth first shows signs of change when he becomes Thane of Cawdor. While Macbeth first
meets the witches they tell him he will be king and he wishes to know more. "Why/upon this
blasted heath you stop our way/ with such a prophetic greeting? Speak I charge you." (1.3.77–78)
When Macbeth hears he will be king he becomes instantly curious and sparks a interest on the
prospect of becoming king. This is when he first begins to show the signs of his greed. This is
shown even further when Macbeth is told he was Thane of Cawdor and acts hopeful, "If chance will
have me king,/ why chance may crown me" (1.3.143–144) Knowing the witches said he would soon
become Thane of Cawdor now Macbeth has a purpose and a drive knowing what's next in store for
him. This is shown within his letter to Macbeth "that though might've not lose the dues of rejoicing,
by being integral of what greatness is sponsored thee/" (1.5.8–9) Here he states to lady macbeth he
doesn't want to waste his chance and lose out on the greatness of becoming king. All of these quotes
show Macbeth slip to the side of darkness by wanting to become king.
After murdering Duncan Macbeth starts to change into a pathological manipulator. He is shown
doing this when he kills the guards to frame them for the murder of Duncan "Oh yet I do repent
me of my fury, that did kill them." (2.3.97) Macbeth is already planning ahead for the suspects by
killing the people who would most likely be accused for the murder, and to think just days ago he
was the king's right hand man. Macbeth is able to convince Macduff that he murdered

Life Is But A Choice Essay
Life Is But A Choice
Beginning with the time of birth until the time of death, people have to make choices everyday on
how to achieve the goals in their lives. One can imagine life as a long winding road with millions
of other roads branching off in many directions. The only problem is that life is too short to explore
every single road. In addition, the essence of time will not allow anyone to go back to a road that
was passed. Everyone must choose his/her own roads through life regardless of what other people
might think. Robert Frost wrote in The Road Not
Taken, " I took the one less traveled by And that has made all the difference
"(Frost 423). By managing ones time efficiently and making clear rational

Everyone is different and that is what makes our world so interesting.
Another important choice in life is having a healthy body. The key to achieving a healthy body is
diet, exercise, and rest. In the world today, doctors are constantly reminding us to watch our body fat,
cholesterol, and nutritional intake. In addition, eating a well balance diet can greatly reduce risk of
disease and live longer lives.. Also, doctors tell us that smoking and excessive drinking of alcoholic
beverages can be extremely harmful to our health.
Making a choice to exercise is very important also. Doctors tell us that exercising at least thirty
minutes a day will reduce the risk of a stroke and heart disease. Not to mention, exercising is a
great way to cope with the stress of everyday life. The most important way to stay healthy is to get
plenty of rest. The body needs a break to the mind and replenish cells in the body so the body can
function properly. Without rest, one is more likely to make mistakes and even have a higher level of
stress.
One more important choice in life is spirituality. Everyone has to question what is this world we
live in, why are we here on earth, is there life elsewhere, and is there a god. These questions have
been around since man began walking the earth. Over the centuries since the bible was written, many
different schools of thought have been

Quote Essay Chapter One: As the first chapter of a crazy summer and childhood is set, Scout
describes her town and sets a vivid image for the reader. This image describes Maycomb as "... an
old town, but it was a tired old town when I first knew it. In rainy weather the streets turned to red
slop; grass grew on the sidewalks, the courthouse sagged in the square..." (Lee 5). This not only
paints a picture for the town and provides a setting for the conflict of Tom Robinson's case, but also
gives the reader insight on the main character, or narrators, feelings about the town. Chapter Two: In

hands over the railing. 'What's so intrestin'?' he question. 'You're left handed Mr. Ewell,' said Judge

that they cannot trust a single word Bob Ewell speaks. Chapter Nineteen: In Maycomb, it is
evident there are racial standards the people live by. These standards are exemplified when Tom
states this in the courtroom, "'Yes suh. I felt right sorry for her, she seemed to try more'n the rest of

(Lee 197). During this scene the reader can see that Mr. Gilmer see's resentment towards the fact
that Tom Robinson has to feel sorry for a white girl. To the reader it might seem reasonable, but in
that time period, it was not, and this goes to bring out the harsh racial standards in the town. Chapter

Anne Frank Quotes
Anne Frank Essay:
Intro: How long can you stay in a closed area–one, two, or maybe even three days? Well, what about
three years? As you can see, Anne Frank was one of those people who had to stay in an apartment
for three years, hiding from the Nazi's, just because she was Jewish. Anne Frank had a very
reasonable quote that was quite agreeable. "In spite of everything, I still believe people are really
good at heart." After reading The Diary of Anne Frank I would have to agree with Anne and her
quote. She went through rough times during the hiding, but she persevered through it. Throughout
the play, there was a certain character that showed kindness and that was helpful, this person would

1. Quote: "F.E.A.R. has two meanings– Forget Everything And Run, or Face Everything And Rise.
The choice is yours." –Zig Ziglar
Define it: This quote means that when you are scared, you can either get out of the way of the
thing that you are scared of, or you can look at it in the eye and say, "I'm not afraid of you!"
Connect it: This quote is applicable to my life because it is very inspiring. It is showing you that
the two options you have are opposites, and that one is backing away for your problems, and that the
other is facing them in full force. The quote shows that with one solution, you can take the easy way

There is always something that was cheerful if you look heard enough.
So what– If those who were feeling down on themselves didn't rise back up to the standards, then
our world would not be much fun at all. People would think that the objectives that were set would
not matter just because "every day may not be good." You should always find the bright side of the
equation.
3. Quote– "What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against
us?"–Romans 8:31
Define it– The meaning of this quote is simple– if God is in your favor (rooting for you, hoping that
you will make the right choice) then no one can be against you (being rude, saying mean things).
Connect it– The quote can be applicable to my life because it can show me that no matter what,
God is with me. When I felt upset because someone was mean to me, I just remembered that the
Lord will always stand by me no matter what, because the Lord protects all of his children from
harm's way.
Remember it– This is similar to how people all around the world are being bullied. If, at the time
that they were in pain, they knew about this quote, then maybe they wouldn't feel so alone. Maybe
they would realize that they could stand up to the offender. Maybe they would know that it will all

Life Of Pi Quote Essay
"You might think I lost hope at that point. I did. And as a result I perked up and felt much better."
At several points in my life, I have reached a point at which I lost all hope. I lost my energy and
determination, but from that negative energy came a light to guide me in the right direction.
When we realize we are in a dark place, it motivates us to try to escape it. This dark place can lead
to the best creation and some of the greatest levels of accomplishment in life. When I lost the first
art contest I entered, I thought I was a failure, unable to create anything worth looking at. However,
some of my best work came after that instance. In friendship the same applies. My best friend had

When I was in kindergarten, I met my best friend. She was very shy at first and nothing about her
seemed malicious. However, as the years went by, she became very imperious and unwilling to
share anything, including friends. She wouldn't allow me to befriend any other people without
putting up a fight. However, she was allowed all the friends she pleased. Over the years she began
to push everyone apart so that she was the common area between a bunch of enemies. Eventually,
she and I began to argue over petty things and she would always make me feel as if I did
something wrong. A massive argument then arose and I began to lose hope for our friendship
because even though she was using me, I was oblivious at the time. The fight did separate us, and
I was quite somber about the situation. However, this was when I realized all the things she had
been doing wrong; all the things that I was better off without. The ending of our friendship for
this period of time allowed me to reach this epiphany that I was my own person able to have my
own friends, able to make my own decisions, able to be happy about my accomplishments. This
sudden realization lifted the doleful weight from my shoulders, allowing me to become a much
happier person with a new outlook on my life. Like I stated before, sometimes it takes us until we

Inspiring Quotes Analysis
Inspiring quotes are great because it causes us to see the world in a different and new perspective.
Quotes inspire us by giving us hope and increases our confidence. It allows us to see the light at
the end of the tunnel despite everything we may be going through. Life is based on quotes and
we have the choice to change our lives for the better. One specific quote I find really inspiring is
"Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events and small minds discuss people".
Personally, the way I'm interpreting this quote is that people with great knowledge tries to make a
difference in the world by discussing important issues. People with average knowledge make an
effort to let people know their opinions on little events.

Explanation: Our lives are full of ups and downs. Often we get so caught up with the downs in our
lives that we fall into depression. We feel that everything in life is falling apart. You regret the
choices you've made in the past and feel that you have failed in life. Understand that you cannot go
back in time and undo choices you've made but that you can stop yourself from repeating the past by
making smarter decisions so that you can have a better future.

things and nothing will lose if you try right.

Explanation: The heart, the organ capable of storing love can also reason. Its reasoning makes all

He was content to be alone––he stretched out his arms toward the dark water in a curious way, and
as far as I was from him, I could have sworn he was trembling. Involuntarily I glanced seaward––and

  • 1. My Favorite Quotes Of All Time Mark Twain once said one of my favorite quotes of all time, "The two most important days in your life are the day you were born, and the day you find out why." Perhaps this is a question I have ask myself every since I read it about ten years ago. The day we know for sure what impact we want to do in life is the day that our past experience as well as the once that we did not understood become unambiguous. We can put our history with its experiences into a correct point of view, perhaps as a training to get from point A to point B. We can obtain a clear perspective and shape the road before us with particular objectives in mind. Such as training, education and alternatives for where we are headed. This particular paper was so helpful to me in many ways. It opened and cleared my thoughts; it gave me a fresh perspective. Adaptability: I have found myself often living one day at a time, in other words, as one may say, going day by day or even going with the flow of things, which can be a good thing as well as a bad thing. However, in my readings I have understood that "Adaptability" may not always be the right thing to do. For it is a theme that waits patiently and unwearyingly for things to happen on there own. On the other hand, this theme may be the reason I am still doing what I am doing, working with different kinds of people. Perhaps, God only knew when He created me that in order to accomplish the task and purpose He entrusted me I would need adaptability. God knew Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Favorite Quote Analysis My favorite quote will always be by Sappho in which she says, "Someone, I tell you, in another time will remember us." She was right. She's remembered for being a gay poet and is immortalized despite a lot of her works not being found completely. It's one of my favorite quotes because identifying as a nonbinary queer person who also likes girls, I can relate to Sappho a lot when she writes about her desire for love and personal heartbreaks. This quote also brings me ease as even in "another time" someone will still remember me. I think we all want to leave a legacy of some sort, and for me I want my legacy to be centered around my experience and accomplishments as an American born Punjabi artist and social activist, who was also highly active in the LGBTQ+ community. I want someone to remember me because it is a vicious cycle that people of color and members of the color in the LGBTQ+ community get forgotten in history. History is white– washed. But the idea that I will do enough in my life to be remembered in some shape or form, reminds me that my efforts and failures as a Punjabi artist and social activist are just part of a legacy I am starting. Moving on, my strength and determination did not magically appear one day. I had a lot of amazing people who are a part of my support network who helped show me what healthy self love and growth is supposed to be. One of the people I will be highlighting is my AP English teacher. Candice Ligator, was one of the best, and one of my favorite teachers in my high school career. She was a big part of my support system when it came to being a trans and queer student who had a lot of family issues. She was also a big inspiration to me as she told us stories full of struggles growing as a teacher. She talked about how starting off as a teacher at first made her cry every night, showing me that it takes persistence to be adept in a profession. Her choices on the pieces of literature she taught were engaging as they touched upon feminism, gay rights, and race. This allowed me to explore both my interest in writing and in social justice. Reading about personal experiences from Mary Shelley, Oscar Wilde, and Ralph Ellison was inspiring as it allowed me to see that I can Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. The Giver Sameness Quotes A Closer Look at the Sameness "It wasn't a practical thing, so it became obsolete when we went to the Sameness." (84) The Giver, by Lois Lowry, is from the perspective of a twelve year old boy named Jonas growing up in a Utopia. At the Ceremony of Twelve, where every person that turns twelve receives their life–long "job", Jonas finds out he has been selected to be the Receiver of Memory, the most honored of elders. The current Receiver of memory, who Jonas callsthe Giver, transfers memories of color and feelings like pain and joy to him. As he receives each memory, he learns of a life outside of the utopia. This book proves that being perfect and the same as everyone else is not as great as it sounds. The Utopian society of sameness in...show more content... Without choices, the people are missing out on important life lessons that can help you in life. People can learn from mistakes, they can learn from consequences. "Asher ran through the standard apology phrase rapidly, still catching his breath." (3) One of the rules in The Giver's society is that you must apologize each time you break one of them. If someone is given the choice to apologize, they will understand why they apologize and realize their mistake. If they are forced to do it, it becomes worthless and doesn't mean anything. "Two children–one male, one female–to each family unit. It was written very clearly in the rules." (8) Another rule in The Giver's society is that there is a limit on how many children you can have. In our society, if you want a another child you have the freedom to have another child. Without choices, there are no mistakes and no experiences of consequences. Without these crucial building blocks of society, there is no learning and no self Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Examples Of Integrating Quotes Integrating quotations is when a writer places a quote п»їп»їinto п»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їп»їhis or her writing. п»їп»їп»їп»їWe as writers, often integrate quotations into our work. Integrating quotes allows readers to see credibility in our writing. Dropping quotes without a warning, starting or ending a paragraph with a quote and giving little information, or even giving too much information, are all examples of how integrating quotes is done incorrectly. However, there are several ways to fix these mistakes. One way is to signal the quote is coming, allowing the reader to be looking out for it. Another way to fix it is to give guidance to the reader, tell them what you think about the quote and why you put it there, creating a link between the two. • 5. Quotes On Anne Frank Anne Frank Essay: What do you think your life would have been like if you were in the Holocaust? It may seem like a terrible situation, but one girl ,Anne Frank, seemed to always find the good in people. The last words in her diary were "In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart." These last famous words of Anne Frank let the world know that know matter what happens ,there is always good in people. Anne's family faced many problems and fears in the annex. A couple acts in the entire book clearly showed me this ,these acts were shown by Mr.Van Daan when he was being selfish with, rude to his own son, and his all around negativity. On page 83, the following dialogue takes place: Mr.Van Daan:(Pushing Peter roughly) Haven't you done enough. This one small quote has many powerful words ,used towards Peter. Shown by the quote above he is rude towards Peter, Peter was trying to help ,but Mr.Van Daan just yelled at him. Everytime, one person in the annex made a tiny mistake ,they got yelled at by Mr.Van Daan. On page 95, the following dialogue takes place: Mr.Van Daan: Just a minute. There's something I'd like you to do for me. Mrs.Van Daan: Putti, where are you going? What do you want?...... Peter: Father says he's going to sell her fur coat. She's crazy about that old fur coat. This conversation from the Van Daans is talking about how Mr.Van Daan is going to sell his wife's favorite coat. This shows how selfish Mr.Van Daan really is. If you would have read a little further , he says he is selling it because he wants to help the homeless on the streets. It was really ,so Mr.Van Daan had money to buy cigarettes with. Mr.Van Daan is straight up mean, rude, and selfish. I acknowledge, that by these actions from Mr.Van Daan ,may make you disagree with the quote. • 6. Quotes 1. The most important factor responsible for the Earths four seasons is that the Earth rotates around the sun tilted on its axis at a 23.5Лљ angle. The axis is always tilted in the same direction which means that for half the year the Northern Hemisphere is pointed more toward the sun and for half the year the Southern Hemisphere is pointed more toward the sun, giving us our seasons. The hemisphere that is facing more directly toward the sun has more direct sunlight and less beam spreading, which makes the sunlight more intense. Because blue light is the shortest wavelength of the visible portion of the there is a higher proportion of blue than any other longer wavelength light. Rayleigh scattering is also responsible for the red sunrises and sunsets. When the sun is just over the horizon the light has a greater distance to travel, this long path increases the amount of Rayleigh scattering. As the beam travels a long distance the shortest wavelengths of radiation are depleted, this means there is a higher percentage of longer wavelengths so it takes on a reddish tint. Another kind of scattering is Mie scattering and it is responsible for gray skies. This scattering is caused by microscopic aerosol particles that scatter sunlight. Rather than scattering particles all over Mie scattering is predominantly forward, so it does not scatter much energy backward to space. On days when there are a lot of aerosols in the air from haze or possution the sky appears gray because the whole range of the visible part of the spectrum are scattered towards the surface. Mie scattering can also make red sunrises and sunsets look even redder than they would with just Rayleigh scattering. There is also nonselective scattering which is done by water droplets present in clouds. When these droplets are all together in clouds they reflect all wavelengths equally, so clouds appear white or gay. 4. F 5. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Greed Quotes In Macbeth They say greed is the root of all evil. This is especially shown in Macbeth, the desire of power becomes an apparent symbol throughout the play. How does a man loyal to the king turn so easily from the slight temptation of the crown. After the murder of Duncan Macbeth is seen picturing an imaginary dagger, "Is this a dagger which I see before me,/ The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee." (2.1.33–34 Macbeth) Macbeth isn't even seen remorseful for the cruel deed he just commits; to a man who he swore an oath of loyalty to. Macbeth shows signs of greed and gluttony as the infatuation of power settles in him throughout the plot. Macbeth first shows signs of change when he becomes Thane of Cawdor. While Macbeth first meets the witches they tell him he will be king and he wishes to know more. "Why/upon this blasted heath you stop our way/ with such a prophetic greeting? Speak I charge you." (1.3.77–78) When Macbeth hears he will be king he becomes instantly curious and sparks a interest on the prospect of becoming king. This is when he first begins to show the signs of his greed. This is shown even further when Macbeth is told he was Thane of Cawdor and acts hopeful, "If chance will have me king,/ why chance may crown me" (1.3.143–144) Knowing the witches said he would soon become Thane of Cawdor now Macbeth has a purpose and a drive knowing what's next in store for him. This is shown within his letter to Macbeth "that though might've not lose the dues of rejoicing, by being integral of what greatness is sponsored thee/" (1.5.8–9) Here he states to lady macbeth he doesn't want to waste his chance and lose out on the greatness of becoming king. All of these quotes show Macbeth slip to the side of darkness by wanting to become king. After murdering Duncan Macbeth starts to change into a pathological manipulator. He is shown doing this when he kills the guards to frame them for the murder of Duncan "Oh yet I do repent me of my fury, that did kill them." (2.3.97) Macbeth is already planning ahead for the suspects by killing the people who would most likely be accused for the murder, and to think just days ago he was the king's right hand man. Macbeth is able to convince Macduff that he murdered Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Life Is But A Choice Essay Life Is But A Choice Beginning with the time of birth until the time of death, people have to make choices everyday on how to achieve the goals in their lives. One can imagine life as a long winding road with millions of other roads branching off in many directions. The only problem is that life is too short to explore every single road. In addition, the essence of time will not allow anyone to go back to a road that was passed. Everyone must choose his/her own roads through life regardless of what other people might think. Robert Frost wrote in The Road Not Taken, " I took the one less traveled by And that has made all the difference "(Frost 423). By managing ones time efficiently and making clear rational choices,...show more content... Everyone is different and that is what makes our world so interesting. Another important choice in life is having a healthy body. The key to achieving a healthy body is diet, exercise, and rest. In the world today, doctors are constantly reminding us to watch our body fat, cholesterol, and nutritional intake. In addition, eating a well balance diet can greatly reduce risk of disease and live longer lives.. Also, doctors tell us that smoking and excessive drinking of alcoholic beverages can be extremely harmful to our health. Making a choice to exercise is very important also. Doctors tell us that exercising at least thirty minutes a day will reduce the risk of a stroke and heart disease. Not to mention, exercising is a great way to cope with the stress of everyday life. The most important way to stay healthy is to get plenty of rest. The body needs a break to the mind and replenish cells in the body so the body can function properly. Without rest, one is more likely to make mistakes and even have a higher level of stress. One more important choice in life is spirituality. Everyone has to question what is this world we live in, why are we here on earth, is there life elsewhere, and is there a god. These questions have been around since man began walking the earth. • 9. To Kill A Mockingbird Quotes Essay Nishi Patel Ms. Berryman Honors English I/ Period 6–7 January 22, 2016 To Kill a Mockingbird Quote Essay Chapter One: As the first chapter of a crazy summer and childhood is set, Scout describes her town and sets a vivid image for the reader. This image describes Maycomb as "... an old town, but it was a tired old town when I first knew it. In rainy weather the streets turned to red slop; grass grew on the sidewalks, the courthouse sagged in the square..." (Lee 5). This not only paints a picture for the town and provides a setting for the conflict of Tom Robinson's case, but also gives the reader insight on the main character, or narrators, feelings about the town. Chapter Two: In Maycomb, the residents can be said to have very small minded...show more content... Ewell wrote on the back of the envelope and looked up complacently to see Judge Taylor looking at him as if he were some fragrant gardenia in full bloom on the witness stand, to see Mr. Gilmer half–sitting, half standing at his table. The jury was watching him, one man leaning over with his hands over the railing. 'What's so intrestin'?' he question. 'You're left handed Mr. Ewell,' said Judge Taylor." (Lee 117). This scene not only brings out Atticus's intelligence, but proves to the audience that they cannot trust a single word Bob Ewell speaks. Chapter Nineteen: In Maycomb, it is evident there are racial standards the people live by. These standards are exemplified when Tom states this in the courtroom, "'Yes suh. I felt right sorry for her, she seemed to try more'n the rest of 'em–' 'You felt sorry for her, you felt sorry for her?' Mr. Gilmer seemed ready to rise to the ceiling." (Lee 197). During this scene the reader can see that Mr. Gilmer see's resentment towards the fact that Tom Robinson has to feel sorry for a white girl. To the reader it might seem reasonable, but in that time period, it was not, and this goes to bring out the harsh racial standards in the town. Chapter Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Anne Frank Quotes Anne Frank Essay: Intro: How long can you stay in a closed area–one, two, or maybe even three days? Well, what about three years? As you can see, Anne Frank was one of those people who had to stay in an apartment for three years, hiding from the Nazi's, just because she was Jewish. Anne Frank had a very reasonable quote that was quite agreeable. "In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart." After reading The Diary of Anne Frank I would have to agree with Anne and her quote. She went through rough times during the hiding, but she persevered through it. Are you going to stand there and wait for them to come up and get you? (She sinks to her knees in front of her husband as her hysteria mounts.) Do something, I tell you. Mr. V. Daan: Will you keep still! (He shoves her aside and crosses quietly and quickly to the stair–well and listens. MRS VAN DAAN falls sobbing against the couch.) (Peter hurries to her and helps her to sit on the couch. There is a second of silence, then ANNE can stand it no longer.) Anne: Someone go after father. Make father come back. Peter: (hurrying to the stairwell) I'll go. Mr. V. Daan: (pushing peter roughly) Haven't you done enough? • 11. Quote Essay 1. Quote: "F.E.A.R. has two meanings– Forget Everything And Run, or Face Everything And Rise. The choice is yours." –Zig Ziglar Define it: This quote means that when you are scared, you can either get out of the way of the thing that you are scared of, or you can look at it in the eye and say, "I'm not afraid of you!" Connect it: This quote is applicable to my life because it is very inspiring. It is showing you that the two options you have are opposites, and that one is backing away for your problems, and that the other is facing them in full force. The quote shows that with one solution, you can take the easy way out and not change our character. But in the other solution, you can make the hard choice and become stronger. For me, this...show more content... There is always something that was cheerful if you look heard enough. So what– If those who were feeling down on themselves didn't rise back up to the standards, then our world would not be much fun at all. People would think that the objectives that were set would not matter just because "every day may not be good." You should always find the bright side of the equation. 3. Quote– "What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"–Romans 8:31 Define it– The meaning of this quote is simple– if God is in your favor (rooting for you, hoping that you will make the right choice) then no one can be against you (being rude, saying mean things). Connect it– The quote can be applicable to my life because it can show me that no matter what, God is with me. When I felt upset because someone was mean to me, I just remembered that the Lord will always stand by me no matter what, because the Lord protects all of his children from harm's way. Remember it– This is similar to how people all around the world are being bullied. If, at the time that they were in pain, they knew about this quote, then maybe they wouldn't feel so alone. Maybe they would realize that they could stand up to the offender. Maybe they would know that it will all be OK. So what– If this were something Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Life Of Pi Quote Life Of Pi Quote Essay "You might think I lost hope at that point. I did. And as a result I perked up and felt much better." At several points in my life, I have reached a point at which I lost all hope. I lost my energy and determination, but from that negative energy came a light to guide me in the right direction. When we realize we are in a dark place, it motivates us to try to escape it. This dark place can lead to the best creation and some of the greatest levels of accomplishment in life. When I lost the first art contest I entered, I thought I was a failure, unable to create anything worth looking at. However, some of my best work came after that instance. In friendship the same applies. My best friend had been using me all my life,...show more content... When I was in kindergarten, I met my best friend. She was very shy at first and nothing about her seemed malicious. However, as the years went by, she became very imperious and unwilling to share anything, including friends. She wouldn't allow me to befriend any other people without putting up a fight. However, she was allowed all the friends she pleased. Over the years she began to push everyone apart so that she was the common area between a bunch of enemies. Eventually, she and I began to argue over petty things and she would always make me feel as if I did something wrong. A massive argument then arose and I began to lose hope for our friendship because even though she was using me, I was oblivious at the time. The fight did separate us, and I was quite somber about the situation. However, this was when I realized all the things she had been doing wrong; all the things that I was better off without. The ending of our friendship for this period of time allowed me to reach this epiphany that I was my own person able to have my own friends, able to make my own decisions, able to be happy about my accomplishments. This sudden realization lifted the doleful weight from my shoulders, allowing me to become a much happier person with a new outlook on my life. Like I stated before, sometimes it takes us until we reach our lowest point to realize the journey that awaits, to regain the hope and strength that was lost Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Today, almost anything on paper is easily accessed on a laptop or smartphone. However, if you're technologically illiterate, you still have access to everything on paper, you just may have to look harder for it. In the text, Carole says "Now I can read, I can read books, anything. I can write. In English and French." When I read that quote, I think of Carole's troubles when learning to read on paper, now she has to learn all over again on a laptop. Personally, I find it very hard to read off of a smartboard or laptop and I can only think of the struggles coming Carole's way in the 21st century. Daisy is not a fool herself but is the product of a social environment that, to a great extent, does not value intelligence in women. She describes her own boredom with life and seems to imply that a girl can have more fun if she is beautiful and simplistic. Daisy herself often tries to act such a part. She conforms to the social standard of American femininity in the 1920s. 2 34 He had one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life.
