Gap Year Persuasive
The Gap Year
News flash, we're all in the 10th grade right now. That means that in two years, we'll be graduating.
Now, imagine that graduation was tomorrow, do you think you'd be ready to go straight to college?
High school students all over the country take a year off before going to college. This is known as
the "Gap Year". During this time students have the time to do a variety of things before getting
serious about their education and future. This variety has stirred some controversy on whether or not
a student should be able to take a 'gap year'. As a student, I feel like EHS students should be allowed
to take a 'gap year' before going to college.
First of all, the gap year gives students a break. Most students, when they graduate are

Persuasive Essay On High School Field Trips
Field trips are a good way to spend the school districts money because it gives time for students to
get a break from school work and tests. Students get to learn new things by going to field trips.
Some field trips help the students understand better the subject they are learning about. When the
school takes you to a field trip for your history class to a museum you get to learn more about the
past and the things that people we didn't know have been through in a way that we don't just take
notes. When younger students hear about going to a field trip they get excited because they get to
go see new things about science and history that they don't really learn about. For the highschool
students most field trips are usually about see colleges. This gives the students a chance to see
what there choices are before becoming a senior or if they are seniors to help them make a right
decision once they got the information on the schools they are more interested in going to or
planning to go to.
Yes it might be a little more work for the teachers to figure out transportation and get accepted to
the place they want to go. It does take time from the teacher doing there own work but it gives
students and teachers to see what they are teaching or learning by seeing it by real or explained
pictures of what happened and what the people back then might have discovered. It might be more
money for the district to spend but it is for educational reasons. Instead of the district spending it on
things they might not need. Field trips to go see colleges gives a better understanding and input of
the things or classes that the students will need for the career field they are thinking of doing.
Ramao states, "Fourth and fifth graders should see colleges and universities, middle school students
are meant to learn more about art or science on their trips and highschool students should visit places
that teach them about their academy's area of focus"(Lillian Monegeau) .
In middle school I had field trips to colleges and to go see art performances. I was very excited to
see how people express feelings or situations through dance. It was a fun experience I had. Going to
see colleges in eighth grade and sixth grade gave me a

Milestone 3: Motivation For High School Students
With so many of life many failure attempts to succeed in life, we see those individuals that have
dropped out of school and feel that their life now seems meaningless. Their determination or will
power wasn't strong, and they had no one to push them forward to want to be a better person or
succeed in life. Some students today feel that all they have to do is just attend school just because
of their parents' wishes for them to receive a diploma. Some feel that classes are boring and
frustrating and a waste of time and energy. Why do students of today feel this way?...show more

Now how can you learn if you're not interested? This is when the teacher should consider providing
fun and games, praise, and love within the classrooms, making the classroom exciting and more
interesting.
Before entering the classrooms, teachers should sit and study each individual student and learn their
likes and dislikes. They should know what particular student need help in what particular subject.
Some students need more help in other subjects than other students. This is when teachers should
consider making their lesson plans focusing on subject matters that are current and relevant to high
school students, implementing cooperative learning strategies with their lesson plans while students
show off their talents. If students are demonstrating what they have learned in a skit, they tend to
learn more positively. When providing fun and game within the classrooms, the students are
excited about attending class because they already know something very eventful is going to take
place in that particular class. Not only are they learning they are having fun while doing so. They
are able to act out some of their personal talents, giving others a sense of who they really are, and
what some of their greater skills may be. As acknowledge in the article "How to Motivate High
School Students," "By allowing students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in a way
that appeals to their strengths, you're giving them a chance

Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education
A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children
gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life.
Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to
explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children
to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their
educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an
accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment.

Inclusion
A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels
included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel
included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the
attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn
about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should
also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students.
Resources
Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a
parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies
including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important
to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the
classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as
complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix
the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be
empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration.
Future Classroom
My goal is to make my classroom a learning environment where all students can be

Sports can teach you many life lessons that you can't learn in school. Such as, working together and,
problem solving. Many people say sports cost to much money that should be used for school, but
sports can make you smarter. Sports can help you in many ways in school.
One reason that schools should keep sports is, it will help kids stay more focused in school. Studies
have shown that active kids have more focus, are better problem solvers, and have higher test
scores in school. This proves that by playing sports and staying active kids do better in school.
And that they will get better grades. Since being a student is harder now than ever, it's good for
you to play sports because it relieves stress. This proves that athletic kids will probably do better
on harder tests because they will be more calm about it. A lot of kids get really nervous for a big
test but if you play sports you won't as nervous as if you don't play sports. Therefore, playing sports
can help you be a better student.
Another reason schools should keep sports is, it will help kids to have higher scores on tests in
school. In 2012 studies by the Datalys Center found that young athletes have higher scores in math
and English. This proves that kids that play sports will do better in school. According to the Institute

help you get through a hard test or class in school. Sports are an opportunity in kids lives to have

Persuasive Essay About High School
Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or
eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain the same, but many more changes are
made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change,
different activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be
like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest of your life and is when you
individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning
vocabulary (words), making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you
take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science, Language Arts, P.E., Music,
Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no
complex levels of classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the
same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach all your classes to you and you
would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are
normally three teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three
groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year. Recess and lunch was the only times
you could see your other friends that are in your grade. Everyone in first through sixth grade do not

Persuasive Essay On Success In School
Being successful in school is a way to leave stress off the shoulders. Having the knowledge that
others do not is a good feeling. Getting high scores and not slacking off makes everyone proud.
Education should be the main priority. Even though after college there's no one to guide that
person throughout life. Everyone takes a different route whether it's good or bad. Most of the
students become successful in life, but many do not choose to become successful in life and rather
be on the streets doing their thing. Students Education Anaheim school's fail to encourage
students. They do not obligate their students to stay after school. There are many Anaheim
schools where they actually treat their students their age. KIPP schools make students
responsible at a certain age. KIPP schools have a way to encourage their students. Anaheim
schools scores are not as high perhaps even lower than what their average is. "Everyone says that
KIPP is hard, but once you get the hang of it, it's not really that hard" (13). Anaheim schools are
not equivalent to what KIPP schools are. KIPP schools are a struggle and a success. Anaheim
school is just a start of success. Gladwell argues that summer vacation negatively impact students
learning. Low income students show less growth other after the summer. Summer vacation impacts
students learning half the students are not involved in school programs over the summer. Kipp
students have a lot of responsibility with school. Kipp students have summer vacation programs
such as tutoring. Anaheim school kids do not show effort put into their work these kids stay up
late just to finish their homework. Half the students in Anaheim schools do not show up with
homework done. "What that extra credit time does allow for a more relaxed atmosphere" (10). A
much more relaxed atmosphere is what everyone wants. Spending extra time doing all the work
really does pay off. Another way to improve student's success in Anaheim school is for students to
know their ability and effort. "Many people assume that possessing superior intelligence or ability
is a recipe for success" (21). Success can be any accomplishments even if the intelligence matters or
not anyone can be success in many different ways.

Persuasive Essay On Choosing A College
Deciding on a college is a stressful time in any student's life. All students deal with stress about their
future after high school, regardless of whether they plan for college or not. Some may think that
students are making the decision into something more difficult than it has to be; however, this is an
incredibly important time in any student's life. It entails a lot of thought. Like putting on makeup,
deciding on a school requires effort and creativity, but both can show who a person is. Choosing a
school requires hard work and preparation, creativity for students to express themselves, and freedom
to decide exactly what they want. To qualify for certain colleges, students must be focused
throughout high school. Some schools can be selective on who they accept while others have high
acceptance rates; some schools require classes that others do not. Students need to put in the effort
and dedication to qualify for the schools they believe would be the best fit. For these students,
grades are not something they can only put partial effort into. To maintain their grades, students
keep track of their assignments and work hard throughout all of high school. Students get the option
to be creative while choosing their schools because whatever school is chosen will be used to
express themselves. After choosing a school, the student will strongly align themselves with that
school. Schools offer merchandise because when students like a school they want to represent it;
thus proves that many people use schools' names or logos as a means to express themselves.
However, for prospective students finding a school to align with can be stressful. They have to know
exactly what traits they desire. One thing people may consider: community college or university.
Some go to community college because they are unsure of their major; some go to trade schools
because they only want to learn skills for a certain job; some go straight to a four–year university;
some students do not go to any college. A person's choice in their education depends on their
personal preferences: how much work they are willing to put in, who they want to align with, and
freedom to choose what they want to do.
Similarly, makeup requires a lot of

Young students have a hard time being focused, nowadays with many things available to distract
them from being the best they can be. With social media, and electronics, and the internet along with
other things stealing all their attention, students can become out of touch with their communities,
their morals, and other things surrounding them. They can even forget about things that they
shouldn't, like their faith or morals for example. This is a problem that is keeping them from being
good citizens. Because of this, students should be required to do at least 20 hours of community
service per semester. This will help students become more responsible and help build character,
building a strong path for their education and future. Junior high and high school students should be
required to do community service. Students who participate in required community service are more
likely to graduate from college than those that do not (Volunteering/Community Service, n.d.). The
benefits of requiring community service are there, but not everyone is able to take advantage. It is
also important that community service is required and not voluntary, and that the schools make it
simple for the students to serve. The rate of students volunteering for community service has been
declining (Volunteering/Community Service, n.d.). Some students may have a hard time finding
opportunities to serve their community. If schools require students to serve the community and then

Persuasive Essay On Charter Schools
Open to all children, free of tuition, and does not have special entrance requirements, charter schools
believe that children should have the opportunity to achieve at a high level. When creating charter
schools, they focused on a desire to create greater flexibility for innovation within public education.
It was hoped that successful innovations could be adapted to benefit public education more broadly.
(NEA, 2017). Charter schools also, foster partnership between parents, teachers, and students in
hopes of creating an environment in which parents can be more involved, teachers are allowed to
innovate, and students are provided with structure they need to learn.
Unlike public schools, charter schools believe that smaller class sizes are important to student
learning. According to Homeschooling "Pros and Cons of Charter Schools" article, "Rather than
having a student attend a public school where students will be one among thirty to thirty–five other
pupils, charter school students will be one of twelve, sometimes fifteen other students" (2017). In a
classroom with many students, a teacher may not have the ability to spend sufficient quality time
one–on–one with every student . This may result in teachers having more of a challenge in
motivating each student and encouraging students individually. The teacher may not have the time
to recognize each student's particular challenges, passions, and talents (Homeschooling, 2017 ). In
addition, according to EF Academy's "10

Persuasive Essay On STEM Education
Everyone wants what is best for their children, right? If that is true, then schools need to start
preparing their students for the challenges they will meet in college and the skills to overcome them.
This is best done through the presence of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in
middle and high schools. Through Wisconsin schools furthering their focus on STEM with
extracurriculars, students will gain vital skills that are necessary for human progression,
problem–solving and time management skills that can be used in real life, and the students learn
how they can apply what is being taught in the classroom to real obstacles and challenges. It is
clear that STEM is a rapidly growing and advancing field that is needed for our human progression.
There are so many different professions that fall under STEM education and many of them impact
the world every day. According to former PresidentBarack Obama "[Science] is more than a school
subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical
way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that
world" (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Here, former President Obama is talking
about how important science is as more than just a school subject; science can be taken out of
school and used to impact many people and change the world. Some may say that there have been
other fields in history that became very popular but

Persuasive Essay About Sports In High School
American high schools are bound to have plenty of sports for all students to play. So why not
pick a sport to play in high school? The reader will learn the many reasons why playing sports is a
vital part in a student's life. Highschool sports will allow students to become better educated and
get higher grades. By playing sports, students will be able to make more friends and enjoy school
more. Lastly, if students were to be able to get a sports scholarship for college, their parents will only

Persuasive Essay On Year Round School
Should School Be In Session All Year?
School shouldn't be year round because it deprives students of real world experiences, quality family
time, and puts stress on teachers. Kids who attend year–round school have the same number school
days and hours during the day. However year–round school extends over a yearly calendar with
shorter breaks. Beside the fact that breaks are being cut schools offer more breaks to make up for it.
School is a big part of our future and whether it is year–round or not effects us.
First, year–round school takes away kids chances of having real world experiences and adventures.
The summer time is the time kids earn to explore and get into the arts. For example, many kids join
camps for music, innovation, outdoors,...show more content...
Parents and kids don't spend enough time with each other and the main problem is school. Kids
already spend 7 hours every day away from one another but they also spend part of their after school
life doing projects, studying, and homework. Spending more time around one another will build trust
between children and parent. Kids will start coming to their parents for problems and parents can
give them solutions and advice from personal experiences.
Lastly, year–round school puts stress on teachers. Teachers already have to make lesson plans,
prepare projects, organize tests, and make make sub plans if needed. Since year–round school has
many small breaks teachers need to work faster which might affect the kids learning process. Plus,
teachers will have to assign the assignments not completed for homework or never got to. Also, the
2 ВЅ month break is a time were teachers regroup and relax.
However, some can argue that during the summer time kids experience a "summer slide". A
"summer slide" is when students forget knowledge learned the previous year. But, parents can enroll
their kids in summer school or hire tutors so the "summer slide" isn't as bad. Just because summer
has knowledge loss doesn't mean parents can't do anything about

Persuasive Essay : Should Teenagers Get Jobs
Less than 3 in 10 teenagers hold jobs during the summer, and this number has been on a sharp
decrease since 2000 (Yen 1). This decrease is because teenagers are handed everything now,
meaning don't need to work for it themselves; and because employers aren't hiring. This is an
extremely low amount, because all teenagers should get jobs, in order to learn many life skills,
respect, and be able to support themselves. Everyone has thought about getting a job, even if they
do not have one, and the argument of whether or not teenagers should get jobs or not, is a very
controversial issue. The biggest issue people see with teenagers getting jobs is that it will affect
grades and participation at school, which can be true, but the key to anything is to make sure that
it is done in moderation. Obviously it is true that if there is a teenager trying to work five days a
week, and balance school, they will most likely struggle in school. This is especially true if they
work long hours. On the other hand, if they only work for three days a week, and only a few hours
each day, they can get the benefits of having a job as a teenager, and still be able to focus in school.
Experts even say that having a summer job can help prevent the "educational backsliding that
happens between school years for high school students" (Belsner 1), which is something that many
students struggle with, because unless students study over the summer, they usually forget some of
the things they learned the year

Effective and Fun Means of Learning: Field Trips!
Sometimes a classroom can't teach everything. To change things up, day trips allow for a diverse
learning experience for students. School field trips are an effective means of fun, interactive
learning; the MET museum as well as the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey are two ideal trips to
plan following Pascack Hills High School's tenth grade English curriculum and reading of
Shakespeare's Macbeth. Field trips are a refreshing and potent change of pace from an enclosed

Having a trip focus on a specific subject/unit only adds to a students focus and ability to properly

their own interests and thus providing a more productive learning experience.
Amongst many locations for a field trip, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the most ideal to
visit. This museum, is located in New York Cityroughly 40 minutes from Pascack Hills High
School. Ms. Donahue, an English teacher at the school, has three small classes with about 15
students per class; this trip would accommodate for these students with an addition one to two

morning. After arriving and checking in (all students must pay $20 in the form of a permission
slip to their teachers prior to the trip), students are free to wander the museum by themselves.
Around 12, students will be advised to meet at the building's cafeteria for lunch, though they may
eat at any time. Bagged lunches will not be an option and all attendees must bring at least $20 for
lunch; they may also bring additional money for the gift shop if desired. By 1:15, all students and
teachers will meet in a planned location and be prepared to go back to the school. With any extra time

Persuasive Essay On Education Reform
Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their
purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say
what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the knowledge
students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many
cases, how teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released"
(Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be reconsidered.
Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the
Top, and Common Core State Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell
teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year. The reforms
also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people
believe educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and others
believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational
reforms are yet to be perfected.
One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the
country should all have the same high–quality standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states
should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are

Stay in School, Persuasive Essay
To make good money as an adult, you must have a good job. To have a good job, you must get a

require resumes in their applications. If you have been fired in a previous job because of stealing

because it is something you have to go through until you retire when you're around 65 years old. It

Persuasive Essay For Going To College
Once highschool ends, you will think you are already done with school, and you can finally be
free, and you are kind of right. However, your college education should not stop at high school, as
high school only teaches you a few things. Going to college will teach things outside of just
learning some basic math and writing formats. College will prepare you for life as well. By going
to college, you will earn more, be more employable due to your accumulation of knowledge, and
you will live a healthier life. College is not for everyone, but if you prefer a secure future then it
is suggested to go to college. By pursuing business without a college degree, you could lose all
your money and everything you have worked for at any moment if you are not cautious. With a
college degree, you can earn a decent salary with a secure job.
College graduates are more likely to be employed for a job position than an individual who only
has a highschool degree. For example in the article,"Middle Schoolers, Why College?" it
states,"Today most good jobs require more than a highschool diploma. They want people who know
how to think and solve problems." Ahigh school diploma is almost meaningless now, high school
may have not prepared you for college, so why would you think it would prepare you for anything
beyond that? Also, by attending college you acquire more knowledge and skills in many other
fields which makes you more ideal for a job. In addition, a website had stated,"The unemployment
rate for people with a college degree was 2.5%, for the ones who only had a highschool diploma was
7.7%." As you can tell, people with only a highschool diploma are more likely to be unemployed
than a college student. A college degree can almost assure you on never being unemployed, as
people do want someone who knows what their doing and by going to college they'll know you have
been educated above high school level. To sum everything up, if you have a college degree you have
a greater possibility in being hired for a job than someone who only has a highschool degree.
However, several jobs do need a college degree in order to apply for them.
Most people might think college is a cause of unhappiness and depression but its the contrary. In

Persuasive Essay Ideas For High School

  • 1. Gap Year Persuasive The Gap Year News flash, we're all in the 10th grade right now. That means that in two years, we'll be graduating. Now, imagine that graduation was tomorrow, do you think you'd be ready to go straight to college? High school students all over the country take a year off before going to college. This is known as the "Gap Year". During this time students have the time to do a variety of things before getting serious about their education and future. This variety has stirred some controversy on whether or not a student should be able to take a 'gap year'. As a student, I feel like EHS students should be allowed to take a 'gap year' before going to college. First of all, the gap year gives students a break. Most students, when they graduate are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay On High School Field Trips Field trips are a good way to spend the school districts money because it gives time for students to get a break from school work and tests. Students get to learn new things by going to field trips. Some field trips help the students understand better the subject they are learning about. When the school takes you to a field trip for your history class to a museum you get to learn more about the past and the things that people we didn't know have been through in a way that we don't just take notes. When younger students hear about going to a field trip they get excited because they get to go see new things about science and history that they don't really learn about. For the highschool students most field trips are usually about see colleges. This gives the students a chance to see what there choices are before becoming a senior or if they are seniors to help them make a right decision once they got the information on the schools they are more interested in going to or planning to go to. Yes it might be a little more work for the teachers to figure out transportation and get accepted to the place they want to go. It does take time from the teacher doing there own work but it gives students and teachers to see what they are teaching or learning by seeing it by real or explained pictures of what happened and what the people back then might have discovered. It might be more money for the district to spend but it is for educational reasons. Instead of the district spending it on things they might not need. Field trips to go see colleges gives a better understanding and input of the things or classes that the students will need for the career field they are thinking of doing. Ramao states, "Fourth and fifth graders should see colleges and universities, middle school students are meant to learn more about art or science on their trips and highschool students should visit places that teach them about their academy's area of focus"(Lillian Monegeau) . In middle school I had field trips to colleges and to go see art performances. I was very excited to see how people express feelings or situations through dance. It was a fun experience I had. Going to see colleges in eighth grade and sixth grade gave me a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 4. Motivation for High School Students Essay 1 Milestone3: Motivation for High School Students Sharon Robinson Walden University 2 Milestone 3: Motivation For High School Students With so many of life many failure attempts to succeed in life, we see those individuals that have dropped out of school and feel that their life now seems meaningless. Their determination or will power wasn't strong, and they had no one to push them forward to want to be a better person or succeed in life. Some students today feel that all they have to do is just attend school just because of their parents' wishes for them to receive a diploma. Some feel that classes are boring and frustrating and a waste of time and energy. Why do students of today feel this way?...show more content... Now how can you learn if you're not interested? This is when the teacher should consider providing fun and games, praise, and love within the classrooms, making the classroom exciting and more interesting. Before entering the classrooms, teachers should sit and study each individual student and learn their likes and dislikes. They should know what particular student need help in what particular subject. Some students need more help in other subjects than other students. This is when teachers should consider making their lesson plans focusing on subject matters that are current and relevant to high school students, implementing cooperative learning strategies with their lesson plans while students show off their talents. If students are demonstrating what they have learned in a skit, they tend to learn more positively. When providing fun and game within the classrooms, the students are excited about attending class because they already know something very eventful is going to take place in that particular class. Not only are they learning they are having fun while doing so. They are able to act out some of their personal talents, giving others a sense of who they really are, and what some of their greater skills may be. As acknowledge in the article "How to Motivate High School Students," "By allowing students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in a way that appeals to their strengths, you're giving them a chance Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life. Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment. Inclusion A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students. Resources Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration. • 7. Persuasive Essay About High School Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain the same, but many more changes are made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change, different activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest of your life and is when you individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning vocabulary (words), making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science, Language Arts, P.E., Music, Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no complex levels of classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach all your classes to you and you would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are normally three teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year. Recess and lunch was the only times you could see your other friends that are in your grade. • 8. Persuasive Essay On Success In School Being successful in school is a way to leave stress off the shoulders. Having the knowledge that others do not is a good feeling. Getting high scores and not slacking off makes everyone proud. Education should be the main priority. Even though after college there's no one to guide that person throughout life. Everyone takes a different route whether it's good or bad. Most of the students become successful in life, but many do not choose to become successful in life and rather be on the streets doing their thing. Students Education Anaheim school's fail to encourage students. They do not obligate their students to stay after school. There are many Anaheim schools where they actually treat their students their age. KIPP schools make students responsible at a certain age. KIPP schools have a way to encourage their students. Anaheim schools scores are not as high perhaps even lower than what their average is. "Everyone says that KIPP is hard, but once you get the hang of it, it's not really that hard" (13). Anaheim schools are not equivalent to what KIPP schools are. KIPP schools are a struggle and a success. Anaheim school is just a start of success. Gladwell argues that summer vacation negatively impact students learning. Low income students show less growth other after the summer. Summer vacation impacts students learning half the students are not involved in school programs over the summer. Kipp students have a lot of responsibility with school. Kipp students have summer vacation programs such as tutoring. Anaheim school kids do not show effort put into their work these kids stay up late just to finish their homework. Half the students in Anaheim schools do not show up with homework done. "What that extra credit time does allow for a more relaxed atmosphere" (10). A much more relaxed atmosphere is what everyone wants. Spending extra time doing all the work really does pay off. Another way to improve student's success in Anaheim school is for students to know their ability and effort. "Many people assume that possessing superior intelligence or ability is a recipe for success" (21). Success can be any accomplishments even if the intelligence matters or not anyone can be success in many different ways. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Essay On Choosing A College Deciding on a college is a stressful time in any student's life. All students deal with stress about their future after high school, regardless of whether they plan for college or not. Some may think that students are making the decision into something more difficult than it has to be; however, this is an incredibly important time in any student's life. It entails a lot of thought. Like putting on makeup, deciding on a school requires effort and creativity, but both can show who a person is. Choosing a school requires hard work and preparation, creativity for students to express themselves, and freedom to decide exactly what they want. To qualify for certain colleges, students must be focused throughout high school. Some schools can be selective on who they accept while others have high acceptance rates; some schools require classes that others do not. Students need to put in the effort and dedication to qualify for the schools they believe would be the best fit. For these students, grades are not something they can only put partial effort into. To maintain their grades, students keep track of their assignments and work hard throughout all of high school. Students get the option to be creative while choosing their schools because whatever school is chosen will be used to express themselves. After choosing a school, the student will strongly align themselves with that school. Schools offer merchandise because when students like a school they want to represent it; thus proves that many people use schools' names or logos as a means to express themselves. However, for prospective students finding a school to align with can be stressful. They have to know exactly what traits they desire. One thing people may consider: community college or university. Some go to community college because they are unsure of their major; some go to trade schools because they only want to learn skills for a certain job; some go straight to a four–year university; some students do not go to any college. A person's choice in their education depends on their personal preferences: how much work they are willing to put in, who they want to align with, and freedom to choose what they want to do. Similarly, makeup requires a lot of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Young students have a hard time being focused, nowadays with many things available to distract them from being the best they can be. With social media, and electronics, and the internet along with other things stealing all their attention, students can become out of touch with their communities, their morals, and other things surrounding them. They can even forget about things that they shouldn't, like their faith or morals for example. This is a problem that is keeping them from being good citizens. Because of this, students should be required to do at least 20 hours of community service per semester. This will help students become more responsible and help build character, building a strong path for their education and future. Junior high and high school students should be required to do community service. Students who participate in required community service are more likely to graduate from college than those that do not (Volunteering/Community Service, n.d.). The benefits of requiring community service are there, but not everyone is able to take advantage. It is also important that community service is required and not voluntary, and that the schools make it simple for the students to serve. The rate of students volunteering for community service has been declining (Volunteering/Community Service, n.d.). Some students may have a hard time finding opportunities to serve their community. If schools require students to serve the community and then help them find the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Essay On Charter Schools Open to all children, free of tuition, and does not have special entrance requirements, charter schools believe that children should have the opportunity to achieve at a high level. When creating charter schools, they focused on a desire to create greater flexibility for innovation within public education. It was hoped that successful innovations could be adapted to benefit public education more broadly. (NEA, 2017). Charter schools also, foster partnership between parents, teachers, and students in hopes of creating an environment in which parents can be more involved, teachers are allowed to innovate, and students are provided with structure they need to learn. Unlike public schools, charter schools believe that smaller class sizes are important to student learning. According to Homeschooling "Pros and Cons of Charter Schools" article, "Rather than having a student attend a public school where students will be one among thirty to thirty–five other pupils, charter school students will be one of twelve, sometimes fifteen other students" (2017). In a classroom with many students, a teacher may not have the ability to spend sufficient quality time one–on–one with every student . This may result in teachers having more of a challenge in motivating each student and encouraging students individually. The teacher may not have the time to recognize each student's particular challenges, passions, and talents (Homeschooling, 2017 ). In addition, according to EF Academy's "10 Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Persuasive Essay On STEM Education Everyone wants what is best for their children, right? If that is true, then schools need to start preparing their students for the challenges they will meet in college and the skills to overcome them. This is best done through the presence of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in middle and high schools. Through Wisconsin schools furthering their focus on STEM with extracurriculars, students will gain vital skills that are necessary for human progression, problem–solving and time management skills that can be used in real life, and the students learn how they can apply what is being taught in the classroom to real obstacles and challenges. It is clear that STEM is a rapidly growing and advancing field that is needed for our human progression. There are so many different professions that fall under STEM education and many of them impact the world every day. According to former PresidentBarack Obama "[Science] is more than a school subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that world" (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Here, former President Obama is talking about how important science is as more than just a school subject; science can be taken out of school and used to impact many people and change the world. • 15. Persuasive Essay On Year Round School Should School Be In Session All Year? School shouldn't be year round because it deprives students of real world experiences, quality family time, and puts stress on teachers. Kids who attend year–round school have the same number school days and hours during the day. However year–round school extends over a yearly calendar with shorter breaks. Beside the fact that breaks are being cut schools offer more breaks to make up for it. School is a big part of our future and whether it is year–round or not effects us. First, year–round school takes away kids chances of having real world experiences and adventures. The summer time is the time kids earn to explore and get into the arts. For example, many kids join camps for music, innovation, outdoors,...show more content... Parents and kids don't spend enough time with each other and the main problem is school. Kids already spend 7 hours every day away from one another but they also spend part of their after school life doing projects, studying, and homework. Spending more time around one another will build trust between children and parent. Kids will start coming to their parents for problems and parents can give them solutions and advice from personal experiences. Lastly, year–round school puts stress on teachers. Teachers already have to make lesson plans, prepare projects, organize tests, and make make sub plans if needed. Since year–round school has many small breaks teachers need to work faster which might affect the kids learning process. Plus, teachers will have to assign the assignments not completed for homework or never got to. Also, the 2 ВЅ month break is a time were teachers regroup and relax. However, some can argue that during the summer time kids experience a "summer slide". A "summer slide" is when students forget knowledge learned the previous year. But, parents can enroll their kids in summer school or hire tutors so the "summer slide" isn't as bad. This decrease is because teenagers are handed everything now, meaning don't need to work for it themselves; and because employers aren't hiring. This is an extremely low amount, because all teenagers should get jobs, in order to learn many life skills, respect, and be able to support themselves. Everyone has thought about getting a job, even if they do not have one, and the argument of whether or not teenagers should get jobs or not, is a very controversial issue. The biggest issue people see with teenagers getting jobs is that it will affect grades and participation at school, which can be true, but the key to anything is to make sure that it is done in moderation. Obviously it is true that if there is a teenager trying to work five days a week, and balance school, they will most likely struggle in school. This is especially true if they work long hours. On the other hand, if they only work for three days a week, and only a few hours each day, they can get the benefits of having a job as a teenager, and still be able to focus in school. Experts even say that having a summer job can help prevent the "educational backsliding that happens between school years for high school students" (Belsner 1), which is something that many students struggle with, because unless students study over the summer, they usually forget some of the things they learned the year Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Persuasive Essay About School Trip Effective and Fun Means of Learning: Field Trips! Sometimes a classroom can't teach everything. To change things up, day trips allow for a diverse learning experience for students. School field trips are an effective means of fun, interactive learning; the MET museum as well as the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey are two ideal trips to plan following Pascack Hills High School's tenth grade English curriculum and reading of Shakespeare's Macbeth. Field trips are a refreshing and potent change of pace from an enclosed school environment. These day–long excursions are capable of enhancing interactive means of learning; they "add new dimensions to education through "teachable moments" that seldom occur in the classroom" according to...show more content... Having a trip focus on a specific subject/unit only adds to a students focus and ability to properly retain organized, clear information. Planning these fixed field trips will engage students by peaking their own interests and thus providing a more productive learning experience. Amongst many locations for a field trip, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the most ideal to visit. This museum, is located in New York Cityroughly 40 minutes from Pascack Hills High School. Ms. Donahue, an English teacher at the school, has three small classes with about 15 students per class; this trip would accommodate for these students with an addition one to two teachers. Those attending would be expected to be at the school ready to depart by 8:10 in the morning. After arriving and checking in (all students must pay $20 in the form of a permission slip to their teachers prior to the trip), students are free to wander the museum by themselves. Around 12, students will be advised to meet at the building's cafeteria for lunch, though they may eat at any time. Bagged lunches will not be an option and all attendees must bring at least $20 for lunch; they may also bring additional money for the gift shop if desired. By 1:15, all students and teachers will meet in a planned location and be prepared to go back to the school. With any extra time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Persuasive Essay On Education Reform Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the knowledge students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many cases, how teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released" (Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be reconsidered. Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the Top, and Common Core State Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year. The reforms also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people believe educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and others believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational reforms are yet to be perfected. One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the country should all have the same high–quality standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are Get more content on HelpWriting.net

To go to college, you have to go to high school and elementary school. If you drop out or don't go to school at all, you'll go nowhere. Life today, money is everything, and I think that the foundation of getting a good job is the education you get in the first 20–25 years of your life. School does not only teach subjects like English, Math, History, or Science, but it also lets us meet new people and build good character. Stay in school, because it will help you meet new people, build good character, and will also get you to a job that you will love. If you are good at keeping secrets, that's one way to know you are trustworthy. But this does not show your employer that you are trustworthy. It's just something that you can tell your employer to show something about yourself that you are trustworthy. Also, some jobs require resumes in their applications. If you have been fired in a previous job because of stealing money or just being lazy, other jobs your try to apply for will be hard because they won't be able to trust you. That's why staying at a good school will help you build the trustworthy, responsible character you'll need to find a job you love. Loving what you do is something really important because it is something you have to go through until you retire when you're around 65 years old. It will really be hard to work in a job for over 30 years if you don't enjoy it. For example, if you don't get paid as much as you want and you also don't enjoy what you do, it could be because of the choices you made in school. If you want what's best for yourself that you know you love and you are good at, you should take advantage of the education you have before you graduate college. For example, if you know you are good at biology, and you think it is interesting, going towards the medical field and being a doctor might be the best option for you. If you are good and love biology but you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Persuasive Essay For Going To College Once highschool ends, you will think you are already done with school, and you can finally be free, and you are kind of right. However, your college education should not stop at high school, as high school only teaches you a few things. Going to college will teach things outside of just learning some basic math and writing formats. College will prepare you for life as well. By going to college, you will earn more, be more employable due to your accumulation of knowledge, and you will live a healthier life. College is not for everyone, but if you prefer a secure future then it is suggested to go to college. By pursuing business without a college degree, you could lose all your money and everything you have worked for at any moment if you are not cautious. With a college degree, you can earn a decent salary with a secure job. College graduates are more likely to be employed for a job position than an individual who only has a highschool degree. For example in the article,"Middle Schoolers, Why College?" it states,"Today most good jobs require more than a highschool diploma. They want people who know how to think and solve problems." Ahigh school diploma is almost meaningless now, high school may have not prepared you for college, so why would you think it would prepare you for anything beyond that? Also, by attending college you acquire more knowledge and skills in many other fields which makes you more ideal for a job. In addition, a website had stated,"The unemployment rate for people with a college degree was 2.5%, for the ones who only had a highschool diploma was 7.7%." As you can tell, people with only a highschool diploma are more likely to be unemployed than a college student. A college degree can almost assure you on never being unemployed, as people do want someone who knows what their doing and by going to college they'll know you have been educated above high school level. To sum everything up, if you have a college degree you have a greater possibility in being hired for a job than someone who only has a highschool degree. However, several jobs do need a college degree in order to apply for them. Most people might think college is a cause of unhappiness and depression but its the contrary.
