Some things in life are just meant to happen. Fate brought me to the seat I am sitting at, in this
university, miles and miles from where I was born. I never thought I would move. The idea was
inconceivable for an eight–year–old girl. Life was an endless cycle of days spent chasing butterflies,
catching ladybugs, and blowing apart dandelions while nights were full of stars, crickets, and peace. I
have learned since that moment that fate has a different idea in mind, one of its very own, and
sometimes, no matter how much we struggle, no matter how much we cry out in resistance, we must
all give way to the pull of the chains, and let fate have its way.

I was placed into a school for half a year that to this day still resembles a torture chamber in my
mind's eye. My seemingly nice teacher was warm with my parents, but bitterly cold with me. She
yelled at me upon my arrival the first day for not knowing what to do. The rest of the year proved
to remain about the same as the first day. Somehow, through all the stress transitions come equipped
with, I made a friend or two and managed to fit in with the best of an eight–year–old's abilities. I
thought the waves had calmed, that I was in for some smooth sailing. Could I have been any more
further from the actuality of the upcoming months?
The next three years of my life, which puts me somewhere at the end of seventh grade, I have
next to no memory. My father, who was currently a lieutenant for the Broken Arrow Police
Department, and had been employed with the agency for 18 years, remained a mere two years
away from retirement. Anyone who can calculate simple math knows that is too long to quit. So,
my dad, being the workaholic that he is, decided to stay in Oklahoma for the next two years, which
in actuality was closer to three and a half. My mother, older brother, and I moved to Texas. The
drama did not stop with that decision, however. My parents bought a new house still under

becoming young adults, they need to learn to be respectful and courteous to the adults and the
world around them. Which is a hard thing for parents to install in their children these days, due to

Wednesday, July 19th, I had a chance to observe carefully an infant for about half an hour in my
psychology class at Santa Monica College. The infant, Ali Osman, a healthy, playful boy appears
to be of Middle Eastern origin. He is 15.5 months old, 32" tall and weighs about 24 lbs with brown
curly hair, dark brown eyes and fairly tanned skin.
There were several kinds of toys like blocks, dolls, and automobiles in the room. However, when he
just came in, he was immediately drawn to the dolls with intense interest and focus. Even though
there wasn't any way to measure his heart rate or brain wave, I could easily tell how interested he was

Ali is quite a friendly kid, he is not afraid to be with strangers proven by the fact that he could
interact very comfortably with me, my classmates, and other babies. However, when there were
some unfamiliar things happening (like when the new baby twins came in or when someone made
a scary face to him), he always looked for his mother and ran toward her as described in
proximity–seeking behaviors (Berger 226). He is a representative of secure attachment by
showing that he had no problem with being away from his mother and exploring on his own
(Berger 228). Besides, he also reacted to the Strange Situation the way we expected from a secured

something, clearly wanting me to read it to him. His intention was well understood. Without

As children we are automatically taught to be open–minded. We are taught not to stare at people

Consider the jocks – every teacher likes them because they play for the school team. They get

whether or not they want kids. I start out my paper by talking about how important this decision
is and how it effects other people. Then I start to talk about all the pros of having kids. After that

If you take care of your kids most of their life chances are they will take care of you when the
places are reversed. There are also a lot of cons about having children. Kids can be very
expensive. A lot of people think having a kid will bring their family closer together when in reality

Every day at school kids and student like me are going to school and carrying all the heavy stuff
and making us stress and makes us grumpy and then we get in trouble. This why some student are
