Researching my family and my background, I have found that I have ancestors from several
countries, including Germany, Sweden, England, Ireland, and Scotland. They all came to America
for a variety of reasons ranging from religious persecution, hope for a better life with better economic
conditions, famine, family issues, and to colonize America. First off I had a lot of relatives come to
Connecticut from England in the 17th century to form colonies that came for many reasons, one of
which was to escape the oppression of their mainland England was at the time. The first one to come
over was my double 11th great–grandfather Andrew Warde, who lived from around 1597 to 1659.
According to Andrew Warde and His Descendants by George K. Ward, he emigrated from England to
Massachusetts around 1630. He was a pretty influential guy in Connecticut and even has a
monument in Fairfield Cemetery in Connecticut erected in his honor. He had many relatives on my
father's side come from England to start a colony in Connecticut, including my 10th
great–grandfather Stephen Goodyear, who lived from 1598 to 1648. According to the Genealogy

Ms. Goodall was adoptive as a child. She reports that she knows some of her family on her

Ms. Goodall walked into HDWC on 02/11/2015 for assistance. She was referred by ACS
Community Representative. She requested for assistance to address her concerns of childcare for
Myan, housing, early intervention, and mental health services to address her bi–polar and depression
to address problems within her family. Ms. Goodall admits to discontinuing mental health services,
including her prior prescribed medication. In addition, engaging in substance abuse while pregnant
with Myan.
Living Environment
Ms. Goodall living situation is not stable. She at first did not have any place to stay for herself and
her daughter, Myan.

Reflection About My Family Background
When reflecting on my background, I think there are two major questions that are to be answered,
"Who am I?" and "Where do I come from?". My great–great grandparents on my mother's side of
my family originated from somewhere in Ireland. Although, I do not know specifics, I know that the
Irish heritage was still very valued throughout my great grandparents as well as grandparents.
Unfortunately, my great grandmother passed away when my own mother was very young and so

I remember how odd it was to know that some kids didn't have religion class but they still went to
church on the weekends. Then, as I went to high school I attended another private Catholic school. I
realized in high school more about how to implement my faith into my daily life and I was taught
how to challenge my views. I even started to wonder if I truly believed in the religion that was
pounded into my life and routines. In high school, I then had my own choice, aside from all

Across the span of our lives, we all experience enduring hardships that shape and ascertain the
person we show to the world today. At the age of three I was taken from my biological parents,
based on charges of domestic violence and substance abuse, and subsequently placed in the foster
care system. I was moved from home to home, in and out of the system, for nearly seven years until

Family background and history (F): As I have mentioned previously, I grew up in a divorced family

Cultural identity is defined as the sense or feeling of belonging to a group. I connect my cultural
identity to my immediate family. My immediate family consists of my parents, two younger sisters,
and myself. Each one of us has significant values that have been instilled in one another. I believe

One of these is that on Thanksgiving everybody comes together to my parents' house in New Jersey
for a huge feast. On Christmas only my mother and the children (me and my brother) travel to Illinois
to spend a week with my grandparents. On New Years Eve we all get together at my parents'
house in New Jersey and toast to the New Year with champagne and apple cider. During Labor
Day weekend all of my family travels to South Jersey to my grandfathers' condo. We usually

My Family Has Shaped The Way I View Essay
My family is an extremely important aspect of my life; my family has shaped the way I view the
world, how I treat other people, and how I see myself. The genogram I created helps clarify the
relationships throughout my family because like many other families, mine is diverse and
complicated. On one side of my family, there are many happy and successful marriages, whereas
