task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it to
the full product?

2. • In my preliminary
task, I created a
college magazine
front cover and
contents page. I
created this on
Photoshop cs3 which
took me a while to
work all the features.
The preliminary task
helped develop my
skills so I could
produce my music
magazine more
efficiently and of
higher quality.

3. • As my skills have
developed so has the
quality of my magazine.
My masthead which was
created through Dafont,
shows the genre of my
magazine through the
worn out effect of the
title, which contrasts to
that of my preliminary
task as the masthead is
very simple and slightly
boring: more informative
than exciting. I was also
able to use drop shadows
and outer glows to make
the fonts stand out more.

4. • In my music magazine, I
have been more
creative with the colours
used, fonts and layout
to attract my audience. I
have also included more
information about what
is featured in the
magazine and is clearly
set out with the page
numbers in bright red
and the information in
white to allow it to
stand out more.
