  1. Mr. &/or Mrs. (Ms.) ___________, Thank you for meeting with me today. I believe by spending a few moments giving you an overview of: The company Myself And then wrapping up with a discussion of your financial concerns You can decide if you would like to proceed. How does that sound?
  2. To begin with, The Western and Southern Life Insurance Company has more than 120 years of experience in the financial services industry. We are licensed in 45 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam and we maintain 181 local offices. We are also a part of the Western & Southern Financial Group that is a Fortune 500 company.
  3. Western & Southern Financial Group is one of ten life insurance groups in the world to hold the Standard & Poor’s AA+ rating. Not only are we a large company, we are also financially secure. The ratings process for financial services companies is similar to the Consumer Reports ratings of washers and cars, for example. The ratings provide a third party, independent review of the company’s ability to live up to their promises. We are very proud of our AA+ rating. It really shows that we will be there when you need us most. I mentioned that the company was large. In fact, we have over $74 billion of life insurance in force serving over 2.5 million clients. All this means that we are a financially secure company that will be there to provide your benefits when you need them. This is a very important factor.
  4. So how do we do it? What allows Western & Southern Financial Group to make this claim of corporate strength and stability? First, we invest for the long term. As a mutual holding company, Western & Southern is not subject to the short-term market pressure that can compel higher risk in publically-traded companies. We continuously monitor and adjust our investment portfolios using rigorous asset-to-liability management processes. The result is a focused and disciplined portfolio that is aligned with the best long-term interests of our policyholders. Also, we adhere to a four-cornered business model, which includes culture, capital, capacity and competence. Our emphasis on doing what is right for our customers, our robust financial performance, our ability to do more with less, and our respected position within the financial services industry continue to contribute to our corporate stability and success. Finally, while we have a heritage of providing life insurance going back more than 120 years, it’s also important to look at more recent history. We've made especially great strides in the past 20 years by diversifying into a full range of financial services companies. Let’s take a look at some of them.

  9. I am licensed in life and health insurance. This required me to pass the state exam to make sure that I know and understand insurance and the laws that govern it. Note: This is where you would talk about any designations you have or FINRA license. Also, if you are a veteran representative, you would mention your years in the industry. If you have a personal story of why you do what you do, this is the place to talk about it. Perhaps it is a personal experience with life insurance or enjoying the interaction with people and helping them meet their financial goals. Mention your Value statement [from your Personal Marketing Plan]! I am committed to working with you to look at your goals and needs and determining the steps to get you to those goals. I will provide you with recommendations and solutions and then you can decide if any of them work.
