  • 2. Implement a data warehouse and do performance reporting, benchmarking and data mining to support and refine the strategic plan.
  • 3. Review your strategy to assure that is has quantitative goals and metrics.
  • 4.
  • 5. Implement transparent scorecards at all levels inside the organization.
  • 6. Implement a periodic strategy review cycle – keep it disconnected from operational problem solving.
  • 7. Charter projects based on the strategy map and use the appropriate project management approach: PMI formal, Agile, Lean/Six Sigma, or IHI.
  • 8. Implement a Project Management Office – consider hiring PMPs from industry or provide support to have existing employees achieve this certification.
  • 9.
  • 10. Install pay for performance systems where transparent and accurate metrics are available.
  • 12. Engage a consultant to review’s the organization’s culture and take steps to improve the organization’s “underlying assumptions.”
  • 13. Begin an employee engagement survey and act on its results.
  • 14. Understand your senior managers’ leadership approaches and coach as needed.
  • 15. Provide leadership training in adaptive and servant leadership – with a special emphasis on physician leaders.
  • 16.
