What’s new with the search page: Search: three search interfaces instead of two Simple Search - Similar to old Search 2.0 but will search the entire 30+ year archive, results can be published to newsletters, and the user's last ten searches will be saved. Search Builder - no changes to this interface. Search Builder form - Simple Search plus the ability to add parameters and fields.
Point out: Interface language vs. language in Intelligent Indexing (Intelligent Indexing – cannot run a search on a source or language; need to combine this with free text or intelligent indexing) You can run a search on a region, country, company, industry, or subject Show how you can expand or search for any of these categories

Simply type your keywords in the search box. Just as you would for Google or Yahoo! For Example: To search for articles mentioning nano car in India, type ‘nano car india’ and click the Search button
The Discovery Pane located on the right side of the screen. The Discovery Pane is populated with filters, which provide a unique visualization of your results and which you can use to narrow or refocus your search results. The Date filter allows you to view your results in weekly increments for the past 90 days. Mouse over a section of the bar chart and a pop-up will appear with the start date and end date for that week and the number of articles in your results from that week. Click a section of the bar chart and you will see results from that week only. The News Clusters filter utilizes text mining technologies to identify top trends, relationships and patterns within your search results. News Clusters examine the first 100 articles to find repeated occurrences of hidden ideas or trends so you immediately uncover information from deep within your search results. The Companies filter displays the 5 most common companies found in the Factiva Intelligent IndexingTM Company category associated with the articles in your search results. The Sources filter displays the 5 most common sources represented in your results. Click a source name to view articles from that source in your results. The Subjects filter displays the 5 most common subjects found in the Factiva Intelligent IndexingTM Subject category associated with the articles in your search results. The Industries filter displays the 5 most common industries found in the Factiva Intelligent IndexingTM Industry category associated with the articles in your search results. The number of articles in your results associated with each filter is displayed in the relevant bar chart. Click an entry in the filter and you will see articles associated with that company, industry, source, etc from your results.

Go to the journal home page. Find the RSS link. Copy and paste the URL into FeedDemon. You will see titles of new articles as issues are published. Many of the Library's databases have RSS feeds. URL goes to the main RSS page in each case. You can find the other categories of links from the main RSS page. These are all subscription-based (behind the firewall). You may need to use FeedDemon rather than a web-based reader for full access.
One example is Business Source Corporate (BSC), a business/ economics database of full-text articles that is one of our Popular Databases. You can run a search, then follow the steps to save the RSS URL for the search. Then you will see in SharpReader when there are new articles that match your search criteria. You can also go to the publications list of BSC and set up table of contents alerts for new issues for journals titles of your choice. Go to publication page & type Economics of Transition.
