be at any age.
Neurosis: is a mental disorder that involves distress.
It is about one’s behavior being outside the common
social norms. The term essentially describes an
“invisible injury” and the resulting condition.

In a study the findings revealed that extreme cell
phone and computer usage could be linked to stress,

isolation
It is said that the more teen’s watch television, the more likely they are to
develop depression.
Television can consume someone so much that they can buy into it being
their real world.
It can lead to an addiction and health problems such as obesity.
Television is definitely associated with social isolation as it completely cuts
off all communication. Sure you can watch TV with someone or text while
watching it but that is not being social.

10. What else is creating social isolation and
neurosis
All of the new ways to do self-serve. Such as at the grocery store checkout,
Netflix, pay at the pump gas stations, pay-pass, online shopping, airport
check in, programs on cellphones such as Siri, and the same programs are
being built into cars.
Skype is another way for people to communicate by video. Some jobs are
now doing interviews on Skype.
Playing video games on “Live”. This eliminates the need to have people
over because you can play with your frriends along with people all over the
world.
11. Conclusion
When asking the question, does technology create
social isolation and neurosis, one would have to
answer yes. From the research gathered, is is clear
that technology can play a big part in mental
disorders and a great impact on day to day life. It
showed that technology can lead to depression and
sleeping disorders and also the lack of any face to
face communication. Technology is taking over and
making everything too easy. Therefore, people are
becoming lazy and less motivated.
12. Other thoughts...
In my opinion, I am not one to disregard technology. In my room I have an
iMac, 50inch Plasma, Xbox 360, iPhone, instruments, and several other
pieces of technology. I am all for using technology but I am someone who
uses it for what is needed. I usually go overboard during the winter but that
is because I am outside literally every day of the summer. I do useful things
such as recording music, keeping in touch with my friends from around the
world, and school work. I think everything is okay in moderation but I
enjoy going out with friends and being around people. Cutting off all social
ties just doesn’t seem fun or worth it to me. The world is a busy place these
days but everyone needs to keep themselves level and happy.
