Course Description



                     Provide the students with
                     opportunities      to    acquire
                     knowledge and experiences in
                     understanding and running,
                     participating in, and presenting
                     papers in seminars, particularly
                     on English language teaching.

The students have
adequate practical
  competence on
         seminar
     presentation

By the end of the course, the
students are expected to be able to
running     seminars,      developing
relevant topics, and preparing as
well as presenting papers.

Two Exams (Mid-Term and Final)

           Developing       the     students'
           competence to present a speech in Impromptu
 1,2,3,4
           public and academic presentation (5 minutes presentation)
           without any preparation.

           Developing       the     students'
           competence to present an article in Article Presentation
 5,6,7,8
           academic presentation of English (7 minutes presentation)
           language teaching.

            reason, analyze, and defend their

            belief in formal and democratic (10 minutes presentation)
            communication.
                               Final Exam
Grading of this subject will consider the following items:
Grading   •   Attendance                   : 30%
 Policy   •   Assignments & Class Activity : 20%
          •   Mid Term Exam                : 25%
          •   Final Term Exam              : 25%
          *) Students are required to attend the course at least 75% of 16
          meetings, and for those who cannot fulfill this requirement are
          not allowed to take the final exam.
          Unless, the student have fervent reasons, he/she is allowed to
          take final exam if they attend 60% of 16 meetings.
Grading Score   86.00 – 100     :A
                71.00 – 85.99   :B
                56.00 – 70.99   :C
                41.00 – 55.99   : D (remedial at the given time)
                00.00 – 40 .99 : E (study over)

  • 4. Course Identity Seminar on English Language Teaching Code : D.09.232 Credits : 3 SKS Semester : 6th Time Allotment : 3 x 50 minutes Schedule : 1. Monday, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (B) 2. Monday, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (A) 3. Thursday, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (C)
  • 5. Course Description Provide the students with opportunities to acquire knowledge and experiences in understanding and running, participating in, and presenting papers in seminars, particularly on English language teaching.
  • 6. Standard Competence The students have adequate practical competence on seminar presentation
  • 7. Course Objective By the end of the course, the students are expected to be able to running seminars, developing relevant topics, and preparing as well as presenting papers.
  • 8. Course Outline Sixteen Meetings Course Two Exams (Mid-Term and Final)
  • 9. Course Outline Sessions Basic Competence Topics Developing the students' competence to present a speech in Impromptu 1,2,3,4 public and academic presentation (5 minutes presentation) without any preparation. Developing the students' competence to present an article in Article Presentation 5,6,7,8 academic presentation of English (7 minutes presentation) language teaching. Middle Exam

Course Outline Sessions Basic Competence Topics Broadening student’s views on trends of researches on English 9,10 language teaching and Research Paper Overview Understanding the anatomy of research paper. Proposal Presentation 11,12,13 Developing the students’ (10 minutes presentation) competence to communicate, argue, reason, analyze, and defend their 14,15,16 arguments, concepts, opinion, and Paper Presentation belief in formal and democratic (10 minutes presentation) communication. Final Exam
  • 11. Grading of this subject will consider the following items: Grading • Attendance : 30% Policy • Assignments & Class Activity : 20% • Mid Term Exam : 25% • Final Term Exam : 25% *) Students are required to attend the course at least 75% of 16 meetings, and for those who cannot fulfill this requirement are not allowed to take the final exam. Unless, the student have fervent reasons, he/she is allowed to take final exam if they attend 60% of 16 meetings.
  • 12. Grading Score 86.00 – 100 :A 71.00 – 85.99 :B 56.00 – 70.99 :C 41.00 – 55.99 : D (remedial at the given time) 00.00 – 40 .99 : E (study over)
