2. Feed In Tariffs (FITs) became available in the United Kingdom on 1st April 2010. Under this scheme energy suppliers have to make regular payments to businesses and communities who generate their own electricity from renewable or low carbon sources such as solar electricity panels(PV).
3. Feed In Tariff –Introduced in April 2010, the tariff pays anyone having solar panels installed on their building a premium payment for EVERYTHING generated for 25 years whether they use it or not. The Feed In Tariff is index linked and will increase in line with inflation. Export Tariff – An additional payment (3p/kWh) made for electricity sold back to the electricity supplier Bill savings – Dependant on the size and location of the Solar system but can be more than 50%
4. The current Feed-In Tariff rates are set at: 41.3p per Kwh produced for systems under 4KW 36.1p per Kwh produced for systems above 4KW up to 10KW 31.4p per Kwh produced for systems above 10KW up to 100KW 29.3p per Kwh produced for systems above 100KW up to 5MW
