2. WHAT ARE THE PROPERTIES
CONFISCATED
In 1995, the first major national campaign to Free taken together
with all the other network entities was a signature campaign to
introduce the reuse of confiscated assets for social purposes. The
management of these assets becomes a sort of modern “retaliation” to
counter the activities of organized crime and disseminate the culture of
legality which serves as the primary antibody from the Mafia.

3. Law no. 109 of March 1996 was approved during the Justice
Commission, in record time and finite term. There are three different
categories of seized assets, each with a precise discipline.

4. 1°= Movable assets: cash and checks, cash and bonds, personal loans
(promissory notes, bearer passbooks, bonds and notes), or motor
vehicles, vessels and movable property are not part of corporate assets.
As a rule, the sums of money confiscated or those derived from the sale
of another movable property are aimed at active management of other
goods confiscated.

5. 2°= Real estate: apartments, villas, building or agricultural land. They have
a high symbolic value, because they represent concretely the power that the
boss can have on the surrounding territory, and are often the chosen places for
meeting between different Mafia families. The state may decide to use them to
“purpose of justice, public order and civil protection” as stated in the
legislator , or transfer them to the heritage of the town in which they insist .
The local authority will then administer them directly or assign free of change
to associations, community and voluntary organizations. A special case is
represented by those places confiscated for the offense of facilitating the use of
drugs: the good will be awarded preferably to associations and rehabilitation
centers for drug addicts.

6. 3°= Business assets: the main sources of money laundering from illegal
business. The seizures and confiscation covering a wide range of investment
sector : industries active in the building sector; Agribusiness companies
(such as the huge buffalo herd with attached dairy farm seized and
confiscated from the Mafia in the Castel Volturno area); restaurant and
pizzerias just about anywhere, from Calabria to Lecco, and nightlife know
as the historic Cafe de Paris, the nerve center of the Roman Dolce Vita,
ended up in the hands of a nominee of the ‘NDRANGHETA in
Calabria whole malls, sprung from nowhere like white elephant.
Over 47% of the asserts confiscated from the Mafia in Sicily is FIND,
followed by Campania and Calabria. Assets seized by province between
2009 and 2013.

7. Asserts confiscated from the Mafia. Omnia association Corleone was
awarded land in Ciaculli district for the construction of the project
“Garden Cianchi”, which involves the construction of a laboratory
aggregation, active leadership and citizenship,where beneficiaries can
support a path of socialization, growth training and entrepreneurship.
A Green Cross – Ciaculli Garden, Location Santa Zita, and State
deliver to the cooperative “ Migma “ to develop a Shared with Orto
Social Integration Purpose of disadvantaged people, in particular for
the blind and visually impaired.
