overwhelming
may be viewed as a result of life's
challenges
any situation or thought that makes you
feel frustrated, angry, or anxious

Brief History of Stress
Was first described in 1936, by the
Hungarian scientist Hans Selye
(1907-82)
Achieved by a powerful presence in
everyday life as a means of explaining
the impact on work, personal life and
emotional experience on health
It can happen to anyone of any age
Signs and Symptoms
Variety of emotional, behavioral,
and even physical symptoms
Symptoms of stress vary among
different individuals

Sleep disturbances
Muscle tension
Headache
Gastrointestinal disturbances
Fatigue
Emotional/Behavioral
