2. Romans 6 1-2 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid . How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? When we were born of the Spirit of God into the family of God, His Spirit baptized us into Christ . We took part in the death, burial, and resurrection of our Savior and Lord.
3. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him: We are dead with Jesus Christ through His Spirit . Since He arose from the dead, we are also alive in Him forevermore. In Jesus Christ, we have eternal life beginning now. We have life and life more abundant ; life to the full .
4. (NIV) John 10 (Jesus) 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full . Living in Jesus is not existing or merely surviving . That is a lie that the devils want us to believe!
5. Faith in Jesus Christ brings a life of joy unspeakable and full of glory. We must practice our faith -- live it out. Whole-heartedly do the things God teaches us to do. Whole-heartedly refrain from all else.
6. 9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over Him. From physical death to eternal spiritual life. Jesus was raised from the dead, and seen alive and well by many people. He is alive and well today , sitting in His glorified body on the right hand of God.
7. 10 For in that He died, He died unto sin once : but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God . Jesus always lived His life for the Will of His Father in Heaven. John 17 (Jesus) 4 I have glorified Thee on the earth: I have finished the work which Thou gavest me to do.
8. 11 Likewise reckon (account) ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. It's true for Jesus , and it's true for us . We are in Jesus and He is in us. We are created unto good works in Him. Our only purpose for living is to live unto God our Father .
9. I am not living for this world, its things, or its pleasures, nor to satisfy the lust of my flesh . I am alive unto God, and serving Him is the Source of life, joy, peace, and pleasure.
10. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unright-eousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. We can choose to yield ourselves to sin, or we can yield ourselves unto God. We can use our body to commit unrighteousness, or we can use our bodies to do right .
11. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you : for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? shall we sin , because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid . 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
12. Sin can not rule us, once we are saved from sin. If we were under the Law, sin would rule. We couldn't help it any more than the Jews did. But by the Grace of God , we can live righteous lives of blessing .
13. Anyone who chooses to submit to sin may come under its power to dominate.
14. 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. 19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
16. 20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. What did serving sin produce in your life? Certainly, there is pleasure for a time. But, in the long run, the pleasure is gone and the pain remains.
18. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
