Garment business in India is one among the oldest producing sectors in country. India
is world’s additional bigger ambassador of textile and apparel afterwards China and
world’s third bigger ambassador of cotton afterwards China and USA. In 1990’s
apparel or textile industry in India was unorganized, individuals in India they weren’t
so acquainted that what kind of fashion is traveling on in the market. At that time
there were not any huge showrooms of apparel in India. People used to shop for their
clothing from the tiny outlets. However currently on the daily basis humans
abnormally youngsters are traveling westernize and they are searching for a modern
fashion. The breadth of business that I am aiming to begin is to accessible a “Big
Apparel Showroom” in India. Now a day’s retail industry is growing day by day,
therefore by analyzing I actually have determined to open my own business in retail
area, which is “Big Apparel showroom”. My basic business is to cater the
requirements of clients by selling ladies; Gents and Kids wear in my showroom.
Added western and European companies are advance in India in retail area by giving
authorization so it will be nice opportunity for me to be in this business. Before
starting business I will be able to use altered kind of alignment to accomplish my
primary research like questionnaire, focus group, interviews etc.
I will use both kinds of research such as primary and the secondary research to
understand about the current trends in the apparel market. In my primary research, I’ll
use altered kind of methodology such as observation. By application this method I can
absolutely realize the customers that what the customers really wants and what are
their needs and it will be done by doing observation in Big Bazaar and Vishal Mega
Mart. Because these two big stores are my main competitors and I ought to recognize
that how they are selling their products, what are their planning and how they are
alluring the people? My methodology would be direct interview with the shoppers to
understand about their needs and appeal and this can be the best method to know
about the customer. Because if I do know that what the customers desire and I offer
an equivalent things to the customers at a bargain amount so I can allure more and
more customers and I can build a foothold in the market. And in addition technique, I
will focus to apparel professional, academic professional and adviser for my primary
research. I will use a research apparatus (Questionnaire) as well in my primary

Project concept
After analyzing the Indian apparel industry I have accepted to open a new huge
apparel showroom in the heart of Gurgaon (NCR) district of state Haryana with
providing completely differentrange of apparel articles for customers at a cheapest
amount and a much better quality. The concept to open a Big Apparel showroom in
Gurgaon came to my mind because apparel industry is growing day by day. Humans
wish latest appearance at a most cost effective price. Thus it’s an acceptable idea to
accessible a Big apparel showroom because countless of opportunities abide in this
business. And additionally, I am working in a shop, which deals with the ladies and
kids garments and shoes from last two year and has some knowledge from my
grandfather and my uncle. They are the apparel whole seller in Delhi from last 18
year. So now I think that I have good knowledge of apparel and can fulfill my dream
in India. If my owner can earn that much profit in a year especially on Christmas then
why not I in India where there are three main festivals and people do a lot of
shopping. Also I compared the population of Dublin and nearby area and Delhi then I
found a huge difference.

In this business mainly there are two major competitors in the north India and these
are Vishal Mega Mart and Big Bazaar, which are dealing in advanced varieties of the
apparel products at a bargain price. Vishal Mega Mart has started their business in
1986 by aperture one big abundance in Kolkata and now it has 142 showrooms in 24
states/110 cities all over the India, out of them 8 in Delhi (Singh),(Vishal Mega Mart,
2012). Big Bazaar is another big name in retail sector, head quarter in Mumbai
opened in 1997 in Kolkata, which aimed over 350 outlets across all over the India by
2010. It has been successful in many cities and small town because it works on the
same economy scale of Wal-Mart (slideshare).
Conclusion
Today, Garment/Apparel business is on booming and there's not thus high
competition at the instant for huge apparel showrooms as I discussed that there are
solelytwo big competitors. With this the population of Delhi and the surrounding area
i.e. NCR is too high as I mentioned above so that’s why we have large number of
customers from every class. Thusit'll be a goodchancefor me to enter into this
business and all kind of resources that are required into this business are
obtainablelike land, capital, technology, labor, raw material and all these resources are
creating my planfeasible.
