10. Azure File Sync - (GA)
Azure File Sync replicates files from your on-premises Windows Server to an Azure file share.
Centralize your file services in Azure while maintaining local access to your data.
GA Improvements
• Sync and cloud tiering performance, scale, and reliability improvements.
• Enhanced Azure File Sync portal experience.
• Holistic disaster recovery through integration with geo-redundant storage (GRS).

11. Azure Management groups - (GA)
All subscriptions within a management group automatically inherit the controls applied to the management
group.
Apply a policy or RBAC to multiple subscriptions, and their resources, with one assignment.

12. Virtual WAN– (preview)
SDWAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) can improve performance by using path selection polices at
the branch offices to send Internet-bound traffic directly to the cloud.
Virtual WAN provides a better networking experience by taking advantage of Microsoft’s global network.
Branches enters Microsoft’s network at the Microsoft edge site closest to a given branch office currently over
130 edge sites globally.

13. Azure NetApp files – ONTAP – (preview)
Rich data management:
Azure NetApp Files will support multiple protocols, protocol versions, and performance tiers, as well as offer
built-in policy-based snapshot functionality, reducing the need for separate data protection solutions.
Security:
All data in volumes is automatically encrypted at rest and will benefit from Azure’s industry-leading
compliance portfolio.
Ease of use:
Azure NetApp Files is a fully integrated and managed Azure service, accessible through the Azure portal and
manageable through Azure SDKs and command-line tools. It eliminates the provisioning and management
overhead that is required for on-premises storage and empowers users without storage expertise to leverage
NetApp’s powerful ONTAP technology.

14. Service Fabric Mesh – (preview)
Containerized applications without having to manage VMs, storage or networking configuration.
(declaratively defined in ARM like template)
Supports both Windows and Linux containers.
Service Fabric Mesh takes care of the rest, including maintaining availability in the presence of failures
(hardware or software), service discovery, scaling, the ability to perform no-downtime upgrades, and more.

15. IoT Hub manual failover feature – (preview)
Allows failover an IoT hub instance from its primary region to its geo-paired region.
The IoT Hub service provides cross regional automatic disaster recovery as a default mitigation for such
failures.
The recovery time objective for this recovery process is 2 – 26 hours.
IoT solutions which cannot afford to be down for so long, can now use the IoT Hub manual failover feature to
failover their IoT hubs from one region to another in a self-serve manner.
The recovery time objective for IoT Hub manual failover is 10 min – 2 hours.
