3. Example Sports Injuries
• Whiplash, vertebrae fracture, neck strain
• Clavicle or radius fracture, shoulder or elbow
dislocation, tennis elbow, thumb sprain, wrist sprain
• Back sprain, back strain, slipped disc
• Hip flexor strain, hip pointer, groin strain, ligament
sprain, knee tendonitis, meniscus tear
• Ankle sprain, foot fracture, foot flexor tendinitis

4. Minor Injuries Can Be Treated In Four Stages
• Fast first aid in the first 3 minutes, Stop
movement, Talk, Observe & Prevent further injury
• Inflammation treatment in the next 3 days, Rest,
Ice, Compression, Elevate, doctor Referral
• Rehabilitation for 3 weeks with a physio and PT
• Strength conditioning for 3 months with a PT

5. • Acute (e.g. due to an accident) or chronic (e.g.
overuse over a period of time)
• Mild, moderate or severe
• 1st to 3rd degree (most severe) for strains
(tendon injury) and sprains (ligament injury)
And Classified For The Most Appropriate Treatment

6. Strength Conditioning After Treatment Is Critical
• After first aid, inflammation treatment and initial
rehabilitation the next step is often overlooked
• Initial medical treatment is not sufficient
• Injuries are often connected with weaknesses or
imbalances in the muscle and sensory systems
• Muscles need to be rebalanced, flexibility
regained and the sensory systems reprogrammed
