An Enterprise in Action… www.franchise.edu.au
There is limited evidence-based knowledge on critical issues faced by the franchise industry… until now!
The Asia-Pacific Centre for Franchising Excellence is a web-based information repository, providing a decade of research and
education on key issues faced by the franchise industry.
Through its website, the Enterprise permits interaction and exchange of information between the University, its partners
and members of the franchise industry.

>>	 conduct market surveys and research, further building its knowledge base;
>> attract sponsored research engagements; and
>> develop and provide products – e.g. training and professional development workshops, benchmarking studies, ‘webinars’,
e-books and e-classes – tailored to the needs of the franchise industry.
The Enterprise experiences significant traffic to its website, attracting sponsorship and advertising opportunities.
Revenues are reinvested into further research, product development and the Enterprise.
The Enterprise has enhanced the University’s and its staff’s reputations across government and industry. Professor Frazer,
the centre’s Director, was recently awarded the Franchise Council of Australia’s National Contribution to Franchising Award.

Enterprises require investment in areas such as product and service development, marketing and promotion. The Griffith Enterprise Fund
provides the ‘seed capital’ required to establish Enterprises.
Griffith Enterprise initiates and manages access to funding alongside the endorsement of Enterprise concepts.
we br i d ge t h e g a p – G r i ff i t h E n ter p r i s e I n n o v a t i o n F u n d
Most technologies created at an academic institution are at an early stage of development. Their successful commercialisation is
typically hampered by a significant funding gap, where limited funding is available for crucial proof-of-concept studies. For the University,
the Griffith Enterprise Innovation Fund bridges this gap.
Griffith Enterprise identifies, evaluates, selects and recommends projects. We also monitor performance of projects and
advance opportunities.
“Because great ideas are at an early and unproven stage of development, obtaining the necessary capital to advance them
is very difficult. This is where Griffith Enterprise can help.”
Dr Peter Riddles, Chair, Griffith Enterprise Advisory Board

Their successful commercialisation is typically hampered by a significant funding gap, where limited funding is available for crucial proof-of-concept studies. For the University, the Griffith Enterprise Innovation Fund bridges this gap. Griffith Enterprise identifies, evaluates, selects and recommends projects. We also monitor performance of projects and advance opportunities. “Because great ideas are at an early and unproven stage of development, obtaining the necessary capital to advance them is very difficult. This is where Griffith Enterprise can help.” Dr Peter Riddles, Chair, Griffith Enterprise Advisory Board …seeding great ideas. Our Funding Programs… Essential Funding Research Outcomes Investors and Customers
