Indus Valley Tradition Refers to the cultures of the Indus and  Ghaggar-Hakra   rivers, stretching  from the Neolithic Mehrgarh period  down to the Iron Age or Indo-Gangetic Tradition.
Mehrgarh This important Neolithic site lies on the “Kachi plain of Baluchistan, Pakistan, and is one of the earliest sites with evidence of farming (wheat and barley) and herding (cattle, sheep and goats) in South Asia."   (7000 - 3200 BCE)
Indus Valley civilizations covering approx 1/2 million miles of Northern Indian subcontinent is  the largest  ancient civili zation in history   until now.

273 BCE:  Ashoka coronated as  Mauryan king   Emperor Ashoka, born 265 B.C.E., was the grandson of Changragupta Maurya He ruled over an empire  that  covered  two-thirds of the  Indian continent.
The Moghuls The Mogul (also spelled as Moghul and Mughal) empire was founded by Babur in 1526 C.E., when he defeated  Ibrahim Lodi , the last of the Delhi Sultans at the first  battle  of Panipat.
