Dan is the Director of the Chicago Recovery Alliance, a group which conducts harm reduction outreach with people using drugs in the Chicago area. Dan and other similarly concerned individuals in Chicago formed the Chicago Recovery Alliance (CRA) in 1991 to practice "Any Positive Change" on the problems of drug use and disease. Dan has helped develop programming at CRA to prevent opiate overdose deaths with naloxone prescription; avoid hepatitis risks among people injecting with safer injection and wide-spread hepatitis A/B vaccination, along with MOST (mobile opiate substitution therapies).
