Dan Sallen is a 4th year Mechanical Engineering student at Michigan Technological University with a minor in Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology. He is a proud founding member of the Solar Car Team at Michigan Tech, a project of the Alternative Fuels Group Enterprise. In this group he acts as the Mechanical Team Leader and oversees two distinct design projects. His design work has been recognized by winning second place in the 2007 PACE (Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education) design competition for the layout of a woody biomass to ethanol plant. His current work with the Solar Car Team has received financial recognition through corporate sponsorships and material don
