Networking-Hardware Project Dave Auwerda EDTECH 541 Week 3 Assignment
Morris Community High School Built in 3 Stages 1950’s, 2 Stories (Classrooms, Gymnasium, Auditorium) 1960’s, 2 Stories (Classrooms, Offices) 1970’s, 1 Story ( Science Labs, Fieldhouse, Swimming Pool) Original Wiring for Internet took place in 1994 Renovation 2008 to Present Upgrade from CAT5e to Fiber cable through most of building, but especially to drop stations Rerouting of some wiring for less congestion Installation of Wireless access points through campus
Main Server Room Our Server Room is Room 220. This houses our connection to the Illinois Century Network as well as our four main servers.

Most of our servers are running Apple / Macintosh software, but we do have some still running on Windows.,[object Object]

Thinking Ahead We are seeing increased wireless traffic iTouch Mobile Labs Teachers with personal wireless devices Spam email is becoming a huge issue. Moving our email to Google based system, taking advantage of Google’s tools including websites, gmail, documents. Will help take strain off our servers.
