The number of people working in crop farming
has declined. However production has increased
due to modern farming techniques . Are two
main types of crops in Spain:
IRRIGATEd CROPS :these crops need a lot of water in
order to grow. They include :lemons , oranges and
tomatoes.
dRy CROPS :these not need much water in order to grow.
They include olives, grains and wheat.

4. STOCKBREEdING
Stockbreeding involves different animals .Pigs are very
important . Poultry (aves) farms provide us chicken and
eggs . Cows are important for dairy products(productos
lácteos) and meat . Sheep provide us with meat and as
wool. Extensive farming gaze over large areas of land.
Mainly restricted to cows and sheep.

5. MINING
Not many people are employed in mining in
Spain. A wide variety of materials are mined ,
such as coal (carbón), zinc , mercury , granite ,
marble (marmol) and slate (pizarra).

6. FISHING
Fishing is still an important part of the primary
sector in Spain. There are two reasons for this:
Overfishing : When too many fish are caught ,
has reduce many species.
Restrictions : On fishing areas at sea have been,
by European and international policies.

and healt centres. Most of these services are
public and are run by the government through

Tourism is very important for Spain. It leads to

We need transport to go from one town to
