This document discusses classism, which is a form of discrimination based on social class. Classism leads to unfair judgements of people based on perceptions of their wealth or social status. It divides people and creates discrimination, especially against those living in poverty. However, one's social class does not define their character or worth. While possessions may change, one's character is defined by acts of kindness and compassion towards others, regardless of their social class. To overcome classism and poverty ultimately requires kindness, not just money.

1. Classism
The uneven distribution of wealth leads to different classes, which, unfortunately, is a major part of
one's life. This unfair distribution of wealth leads to judgements based on your social class. This
type of judgement is what divides us all. This division and this judgement is what creates classism,
which for me is the greatest sin. Classism is a form of discrimination where people treat others
harshly because of their social class, because they might be living in poverty. Just because someone
is in poverty, doesn't necessarily mean they are drug addicts, homeless, filthy or careless of their
life style. You can't judge a book by it's cover much like you can't judge someone because of their

Class is sadly measured by the materialistic features of yourself such as your income, your home,
etc. If you think that class defines a successful and great person that is unacceptable. Possession
will never define a person as it isn't permanent. However character lives inside of us. What I mean
by Wealthy = Rich in Character is that a true wealthy person isn't based off their monetary title, it
is based on those little acts of kindness that make up your character. Simple words like "YOU ARE
WORTH IT" or even JUST a SMILE can brighten up someone's day especially if they are going
through tough times. But kindness won't put an end to poverty, only wealth can will you may argue,
but the truth is you can't put an end to poverty without kindness. Money can only go so far because

2. Classism: The Concept Essay
At first glance it might appear that a study of first generation students would naturally reflect a racial
relationship and race would be the "ism" that is most influential on first generation students'
university attrition. This is especially true when the focus of the study is turned toward historically
