Synopsis
Create a short 5 – 10 minutes interactive screencast, to teach workers and
businesses about blogs and how it can benefit them and their business.
The screencast is made up of 3 components, these include:
What is a blog?
5-8 animated screens created in Microsoft PowerPoint, briefly explaining what
blogs are, its uses and how it can benefit businesses. Using Camtasia a
screen capturing software I will record the PowerPoint presentation, at the
same time recording the narration (voice over).
Features
Using Camtasia I will record a step by step tutorial on how to create a blog.
There will be narration explaining each step and its features and uses. I
will be using Blogger.com as my example for this tutorial.
Quiz
The quiz is the interactive component of the screencast. Using Camtasia to
create the quiz, it is then embedded within the video. The quiz will test the
reader on what they have learnt.
The end product will be exported as a flash file format (FLV). The screencast
can be viewed on my wikispace or blog via slideboom.com or slideshare.net.

Intention
Hundreds of businesses big and small around the world are using blogs to
their own advantages, bringing more and more traffic into their website and
business.
So the intention of the screencast is to educate Australian Businesses about
blogs and how it can benefit them and their business. At the end of the
screencast the learner will have knowledge of what a blog is, setting up
their own blog site, and how they can use the advantages of blogging to
benefit their business.
Concept
Specifications
Microsoft PowerPoint – The 5 – 8 screens will be created in Microsoft
PowerPoint
Camtasia – Capture the PowerPoint presentation, the step by step tutorial and
the narration.
Audio recorder/Mic – used to record the narrations.
Internet – Blogger.com in conjunction with Camtasia is used as the example
for the step by step tutorial.
