Embracing the Unexpected: How my Pedagogic Approach Created an Enabling Environment
Which Provided Opportunities for Learning for a Five Years Old Boy with Autism. This
pedagogic rationale, will reflect on a specific moment of learning and development of a 5 years
old boy with Autism Syndrome Disorder. Furthermore, it will critically analyse how my
pedagogical approach created an enabling environment which provided opportunities for learning
and developing and how these opportunities were reflected upon, with the intention to move the
boy's learning and development forward. For the purpose of this reflective rationale, the
pseudonym Andy, will be used to represent the boy and to respect his confidentiality. Moreover,
permissions from Andy's parents were attained so photos of him could be used in the Pedagogic
documentation, and his learning experience evaluated in this rationale. The moment of learning
transpired in a reception class of a Primary school located in South West London. As an Practitioner

Motivation And Rationale For The Study
Motivation and Rationale for the Study As a former elementary school teacher and a reading
specialist in an urban school setting, I have had the opportunity to work with many English
Language Learners (ELLs) in my teaching career. About 75% of my ELLs had limited English
proficiency when they first entered my classroom as first graders. I witnessed first–hand the
frustration and silence of students who simply could not formulate coherent sentences or understand
texts that were being read because they were not familiar with the vocabulary and syntactic structure
of the English language. Whilst I was explicitly teaching vocabulary words prior to reading some
of these texts in the classroom and then talking about the meaning of these words again when it
appeared in the texts that we were reading, I was always concerned about the correct and most
effective way for vocabulary instruction with ELLs. I wondered if there was a difference between
how Native English Speakers (NES) and ELLs learned and retained vocabulary. This prompted me
to ask myself if there were more effective ways of teaching vocabulary in my self–contained
classroom that usually had about a third of the class who were ELL students so that all my students
will benefit from it. I am also curious to find out if utilizing effective vocabulary instruction

an economic theory that assumes people are rational. It is the study of the ways in which strategic
interactions among rational players produce outcomes with respect to the preferences or utilities of
those players and in doing so assumes people behave and think rationally and selfishly (Gibbons
1992).The problem with the argument that people are rational is that humans, in an economics view
do not always act rationally and are not always rational and thus the free market needs regulation. If

(Elster 1998). Introducing a tax increases the private cost of consumption or production and ought to

This SR, aims to identify the total and individual rates of treatment associated AEs, (expected or
not expected but collected) from systemic MTX use, in ectopic pregnancy (compared to placebo or
any other one drug or different doses of MTX) through a systematic search of all available literature.
Chapter 2 Methods – 2.1 Inclusion and exclusion criteria–
To do a SR on drug AEs, it is best to compare this with a placebo 17,31. Initial scoping searches
discovered, that there were only 3 RCTs comparing MTX with placebo. Some authors feel it may be
even unethical to do an RCT, given the limited evidence for expectant management.17 Hence the
research question was broadened to include–RCT's (of tubal and extra tubal pregnancies) comparing
systemic MTX with other drugs. Additionally, various doses and different ways of giving the drug,
were included in the comparator arm.

Final Rationale While taking English 1111 I experienced some of the toughest writing
assignments that I have ever done. It was difficult and led to many long nights with a lot sleep

At NCMS, the motto is Student's First and as Tomlinson states, "the practice of differentiation is
