5. Summer work highlights
 Deep cleaning of floors and windows
 Painting of all walls
 Non-glass window glazing will be replaced
 Electrical lighting upgrades as needed
 Room configuration in certain areas: administration, media
center, and classrooms
 Kitchen

 Conversion of auditorium into a cafeteria
 Upgrades to IT, security, and life safety systems
 Floor replacement in selected areas
 Clean and prepare courtyards for gardening class and play area
 Move furniture and equipment from Bancroft to Sharpe Health
 Replacement of exterior doors will begin in the summer and
complete in the fall semester

 Dedicated playground on site
 Will rotate usage of Upshur Park spaces with Powell ES and Dorothy Height
ES:
 Soccer field
 Baseball field
 Basketball courts

9. Transportation and Parking
 Bancroft pick-up and drop-off
 Directly in front of the school on Newton Street
 Sharpe Health pick-up and drop-off location
 Directly in front of the school on 13th street
 After-care will be provided transportation
 Seat belts will be included on the buses
 Slightly more parking available to Bancroft teachers at Sharpe Health (~40
spots)
 Additional bike parking

Health School
• Fall 2016: begin modernization work at Bancroft Elementary
School
• August 2018: complete modernization and school opening
