Historical booksof Knowledge • A lot of current geopolitical and military mindsets find their roots in a series of well-known historical books of knowledge. • e.g. Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, Clausewitz, Aristotle, etc. • Modern political figures‘ behavior can be understood by studying these historical books of knowledge.
- 4. Niccolo Machiavelli • Both Machiavelli and Sun Tzu wrote of the Art of War. • The Prince is the treatise that Machiavelli is most know for.

Machiavelli Facts • Lived: 1469-1527 • Born and raised in Florence • First employed in 1498 • Denounced and imprisoned in 1513, followed by exile until 1519 • The Prince is dedicated to Lorenzo di Piero de' Medici in an unsuccessful attempt to get back into court (various Medici's controlled Florence during and after Machiavelli).
