BRAINSTORMING -A CREATIVE PROCESS IN WHICH A SMALL GROUP OF PEOPLE INTERACT WITH VERY LITTLE STRUCTURE WITH THE GOAL OF PRODUCING A LARGE QUANTITY OF IMAGINATIVE IDEAS. ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS TO BRAINSTORMING GROUPS: 1) KEEP GROUPS SMALL -2 PIZZA RULE 2) KEEP GROUPS DIVERSE -DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS = DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES 3) EVERY MEMBER OF THE TEAM IS EQUAL -ORGANIZATION RANK IS IRRELEVANT 4) LIMIT THE TIME OF THE SESSION -NO MORE THAN 60 MINUTES
4 RULES TO BRAINSTORMING 1) CRITICISM IS PROHIBITED -HOLD OFF JUDGEMENT UNTIL ALL IDEAS HAVE BEEN  GENERATED. 2) FREEWHEELING IS WELCOME -EASIER TO TAME DOWN IDEAS THAN THINK UP. 3) QUANTITY IS WANTED -THE GREATER THE # OF IDEAS THE GREATER THE LIKELIHOOD  OF AN OUTSTANDING SOLUTION. 4) COMBINATION & IMPROVEMENT ARE SOUGHT -SUGGEST HOW IDEAS CAN BE IMPROVED OR MULTIPLE IDEAS  CAN BE COMBINED.
