• The British Broadcasting corporation has been funded since 1922.
• Publically funded.
• In 2002, 7 Tv and radio channels were organised from the BBC.
• BBC knowledge was taking over by BBC four which was made for arts and
documentary channel.
• Cbbc and cbbeebies has been created since 1985.
• In 2007 BBC iPlayer was created so people can catch up on programmes
they missed on demand. It was one of the first on demand systems.
• The BBC trust governs the BBC. They basically guides the direction of the
BBC. And are in control of licence fee payers. The trust works with
Audience councils so they can understand the needs and concerns of the
public.
• The executive board is responsible of the management of the BBC. Most
teams of the BBC organise the part of the executive team.
3. Film Industry
• Hollywood is 121 years old. It is in Los Angeles.
• The first documented account was in June 1894 in Richmond, Indiana by Charles
Francis Jenkins.
• The first official movie studio from Hollywood area, Nestor Studios, was founded in
1911 by Al Christie for David Horsley in an old building.
• The first official sign for Hollywood was ‘HOLLYWOODLAND’ in 1923. In 1949 they
removed the last 4 letters of the sign and it’s been ‘HOLLYWOOD’ ever since.

• Kiss FM is one of the top 40 top music format heard on
FM radio stations.
• In the late 70s many US radio station called themselves
kiss.
• There was also KIIS in Los Angeles, 1990.
