Neurointensivist, neurosurgeon, artist, and international volunteer, Dr. Denise Crute, wears many hats. With a passion for art that revealed itself at age 6, Dr. Denise Crute has involved herself in artistic ventures ever since. Involved in oil painting and life drawing classes, Dr. Denise Crute sold many of her paintings while attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. With more than 20 illustrations published in the book, Heart of a Lion, Hands of a Woman: What Women Neurosurgeons Do, Dr. Denise Crute’s work continues to impress fellow artists and doctors alike.
