Why Should I Buy Them?
Web domains names are so important when it comes to online marketing. I decided to write this short
post after a couple of comments we received from yesterdays post on linkedIn. To clarify this is about
business potential and opportunities not holding someone to ransom by buying a domain name and then
selling it to them for 0000′s!
So here is a quick summary of something you could consider.
First of all domain names are your equity and what you place on them will have potential profit for you.
There are 2 ways to choose a domain name.
1. To Brand your business
Oprah one of the biggest names on the planet, actually has a number of websites. Her company
is called Harpo and this is her “brand” Let’s go down the finance tree a little and find us
Our “brand” name is Najeda and latterly Najeda Online. This is our company name and we have a
website for it. Over time people will associate Internet marketing training and Internet marketing
consultancy with Najeda Online as we build our brand. This may be a decision you also take that you are
in this for the duration and want to build a strong brand. Remember though initially you will need to put
more work into your list building and traffic generation.

3. 2. To Maximise SEO ( Search Engine Optimization ) and Passive traffic
The other way you can do this is to buy a keyword rich domain name ( yes you can still get them ) Create
a site on it, “do your SEO” and put yourself in the front of traffic. I have just looked at the term. Flats in
Manchester. This is getting around 33000 searches a month. The domain name flats in Manchester with a
.org extension is actually free! (well as of first posting this blog post in Dec 2010) Now the entrepreneur
in me says umh….I could put a lovely wordpress blog on that. Sell advertising space, maybe add an email
capture form with a free offer. Put some useful articles on the site and within a matter of weeks this ”
could” be a viable income stream for someone that wanted to put in some work. The same can apply for
products and services. I can hear the penny dropping for many of you. This is the real power of domain
names and building either, streams of customer leads, income or both.
