Who would be the audience for your media product?
In order to choose a target
audience I decided to use an
online survey, I created my
survey on survey monkey. This
allowed me to post my survey
online so that it was accessible
for people to fill it in so that I
was able to receive instant
feedback. The online survey
helped me gain reliable and
detailed information, that helped
me stride towards choosing my
target audience. Furthermore I
also looked on websites such as
YouGov for secondary research,
which helped me receive more
opinions for the type of thriller
film that I was going to do, this
helped me with narrowing down my
ideal target audience as it gave
me more reliable information.
RESULTS
From my online survey I found that
the majority of results were
answered by people ages 18 and under
for both genders, however mainly
females due to the fact that a total
of 52 people answered my survey and
38 of them are teenage girls.
Furthermore this then helped me to
decide on my target audience being
young teenagers, however I mainly
wanted to focus on teenage girls as
they will also be able to relate to
my narrative as my main character is
a young teenage girl, and therefore
they will be able to connect more
with it. However when I researched
into a variety of different thriller
films the target audience varied
depending on the type of thriller, but
overall the main target audience for
thriller movies tended to be men, this
could be down to the fact that the
main character is usually a man who
