Bullying involves behaviors such as teasing, taunting, threatening, hitting, or intentionally excluding someone. It affects about 1 in 7 students, and can have long-term negative effects on both victims and bullies. Victims may experience depression, changes in eating/sleeping, poor academic performance, and even dropping out of school. Bullies are more likely to abuse drugs/alcohol, get into legal trouble, and have relationship issues as adults. To address bullying, it's important to recognize it, educate others, intervene if you witness it, and get help from trusted adults.
