God’s Labor Day
“And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was
evening and there was morning, the sixth day” (Genesis 1:31).
Labor Day is tomorrow. I want to encourage you to think of the labor that went into
your being. Think of the work that God did so that your body could find form. You have
been fearfully made so wonderfully for a purpose. I pray this poem helps you think of that
purpose.
Fearfully Made So Wonderfully
O God you formed my inward parts;
In my mother’s womb You knitted me
How can my praise help but start,
For I am fearfully made so wonderfully.
When I look at these hands you labored to form.
I see that they have become weathered and worn.
These hands have not always served their maker.
So, I put these hands together clasped in prayer.
I’m striving for them to be givers not takers
For these hands to be honest and fair.
I pray Your labor was not in vain
That I fulfill the reason You intended
That I work and labor for the “why I came”
For You formed my inward parts;
In my mother’s womb You knitted me
How can my praise help but start,
For I am fearfully made so wonderfully.
I am so thankful You haven’t stopped knitting.
Every time my heart is pricked
It’s Your loving hand that is sewing
Piecing together what I have ripped
Making it stronger, much wiser.
Knowing your mercy and love
I can reach others much better
Pointing them to my God above
For You formed their inward parts;
In their mother’s wombs you knitted them, like me
How can their praise help but start,
For all are fearfully made so wonderfully.

Announcement from the Elders
By now everyone should be aware of the new,
more infectious strain of Covid-19 that is
affecting our nation. As we strive to worship
together, the elders encourage each of us to do
what we know to do to protect not only ourselves
from this new strain of virus, but to protect our
brothers and sisters who are at risk of contracting
the virus.
Thank You
Deerfoot Church of Christ Family,
Words cannot adequately express our
thanks to each of you during Freida
Gallagher’s cancer journey and dur-
ing this time since she passed away.
Our family thanks you ALL for every
gesture, every call, every text, gift,
card, meal gift card and other expres-
sion of love. We especially appreci-
ate your prayers and love during this
time and we love you all!
