Belize Missions
We are thankful to be part of The Mission work here at Deerfoot. This year marks
our 52nd year in the country of Belize. In 1968 the Church allocated $9,300.00 of the
budget to fully support a missionary in Belize. There was no Church of Christ in Belize
at that time.
In 1969 Jerry Jenkins went to Belize and spent several days visiting and door knock-
ing. Also in 1969 the Woodlawn Church of Christ sent Luther Savage to work in Belize
City as a Missionary. Over the years Bro. Jerry Jenkins was on several radio stations and
had TV programs on 5 stations throughout the country of Belize.
Men like Leroy Owens, Jerry Jenkins, Johnny Tucker, Sol Godwin, Thurman Crawford,
Steve Brown, Tim Shoemaker, John Gallagher, and Rick Glass were the first to go into
the country where the living conditions were hard and do the campaigns.
Bro. Leroy Owens encouraged me to get involved in the Belize campaign. My first cam-
paign trip was to Belmopan where I learned to love the people and the work there. This is
my 14th
year of Belize Campaigns.
At this time we are working with the Churches in Belize City, Corozal, Ladyville and
Libertad. This year we were scheduled for a mission in Sand Hill where Bro. Albert
Longsworth has started a new Sand Hill Church of Christ congregation. Bro. Albert
bought a piece of land in Sand Hill and purchased a tent and had benches made and is
meeting on this piece of land. He preaches at Ladyville on Sunday Mornings, meets in
Sandhill at 4 pm and then back to Ladyville for Sunday night.
We went to Sand Hill in January to set up the campaign there. Our 2020 Campaign was
scheduled for Sand Hill in March but Covid-19 happened and we had to reschedule for
July 10. Covid-19 continued and we have rescheduled for March 2021. Please pray
Covid-19 will not hinder us from our campaign in Belize in 2021. On our campaign we
will be conducting a gospel meeting, door knocking and setting up and conducting Bible
studies.

Each year we get donations for Bibles to take to Be-
lize. Every dollar donated is used to buy Bibles and
each year we are blessed to be able to take approx.
200 Bibles. Each year we encourage the donation of
glasses to take to Belize. The Bibles and glasses
are donated will be used to save souls.
At this time there are over 20 Churches of Christ in
the country of Belize. We are thankful for our Eld-
ers continued support of mission work around the
world.
Thank You for your continued support on Mission
Sunday and for the individual donations made for
this Campaign.

Deerfoot Church of Christ Know Your Bible Course
We received a letter this week
from a prisoner in Wisconsin who
is serving a long sentence. He has
served many jail terms for rob-
bery, stealing, kidnapping and a
high speed chase thru hundreds of
miles.
He said that he has watched our
Know Your Bible Correspondence
change many lives of the inmates of
Green Bay Correctional Institute.
He sent us a list of 86 inmates who
will be taking our Bible Correspon-
dence Course.

Attention parents of

a VBS-type morning on
July 25! To minimize
health risks and liabili-
ties, it will be outdoors
and only for our Deerfoot
children. We'll have stations with all our usual
VBS activities, and we'll be practicing safe
hygiene and the best social distancing we can
manage. After months of virtual classes and
having to cancel almost all our activities, we
hope you'll join us for this morning of learning,
fun, and safe fellowship.
