Taking the Light at the Speed of Light
It is so important that we strive to take the light to the world. It was Gus Nichols who used any
opportunity he could to teach and preach the Gospel. In addition to traveling, he was known to use
other means to get the message out. He used the speed of sound to send sound words across the
airwaves. He used the radio and even preached through the party line and all the people in that
area listened in from their homes. As was mentioned last week, Zoom has been a technology that
has helped us be in the living rooms of many people over the last few months. We are again using
the sound waves to send sound words of the Gospel all over the world. Bill and Sue Reed have
taken on the role of teaching via Zoom in Andhra Pradesh, India.
They recently placed membership with us, and Bill is a professor at UAB in the Science depart-
ment. Starting tomorrow, he is teaching the men Christian Evidences. Sue is teaching the women
of the congregation by conducting a ladies class. I have begun a one-on-one study with Venkat,
the 24-year-old translator (bottom right). Because of Covid-19, he has had to return home from
his lab where he works as a scientist. While home, he has been helping his father preach the Gos-
pel. He has a master’s degree in engineering where he is focused on food technology. When I
asked him how many languages he speaks, I was humbled. “Only 3,” was his reply, but I was fur-
ther humbled because he was referring to 3 languages of the 1400 in India. He knows Arabic and
English to make it 5. His heart is to serve the Lord, and he asked me if I knew of Freed-Hardeman
where his father is encouraging him to attend.
Because of Covid-19 – no, because of God’s providence -- we have found brethren who
are striving to serve the Lord. The translator’s father is a preacher who converted his brother in-
law. His brother in-law is Abraham Mundla, who preaches for the congregation you see in this
picture. He has invited other preachers to attend our weekly study. Abraham’s son is the young
man who found our Morning Messages and asked me to teach his friends. God be praised that we
can take the light at the speed of light.
A Note From the Harp
P.S. If you would like to get involved, just give me your email and we can include you in the
weekly Zoom study on Monday Mornings at 7:00AM. If you would please pray, our hope is to
bring many more sons and daughters to glory around the world!
