Scenario 1
■ Aravinth is a sports player. He wants to purchase a new pair of shoes for his
next tournament. So he visits a local sports store. He was fancied by a good
looking pair of shoes from the brand POMA. He inquires about the shoes and is
satisfied with its cost and features. He purchases the shoe for Rs.1600 which
was propsed for Rs.2000 and given a discount of 20% as told by the salesman.
Aravinth went home delighted as he was able to save Rs.400 for the shoes
which he liked.
Decoding 1
■ Aravinth was counterfeited because his shoes from the brand POMA was a look-
alike for those of the brand PUMA. He was convinced by the shoes’ similar
appearance and the false authenticity provided by the shopkeeper whose only
aim is to sell the product for a profit despite its genuineness. The shoes actual
price would have been less than Rs.1000 but was sold for a price of Rs.1600.
So, actually Aravinth didn’t save Rs.400 but lost Rs.600 over the pair of shoes
that he purchased.
Scenario 2
■ Adhithya went to an electronics showroom were he planned to buy a geyser. As
he inquired about the geyser, the sales executive told that it costs about
Rs.4500 but with offers and discounts it costs about Rs.3300. Pleased by the
discounts, Adhithya purchased the geyser for Rs.3300.
Decoding 2
■ The motive of the sales executive to sell the geyser for Rs.3300 which was the
target of the manufacturer was successfully accomplished. Due to lack of
experience and research Adhithya could not save any money in buying the
geyser. But if he had bargained, he could have saved some money.
Scenario 3
■ Dr.Ajay, a psychiatrist went to the same showroom and purchased the same
geyser which Adhithya had purchased, for Rs.2950. Compared to Adhithya,
Dr.Ajay was able to save Rs.350. Though the sales executive told the same set
of things which he told Adhithya, Dr.Ajay was not satisfied and went to bargain
a bit more, in which he was successful.
Decoding 3
■ Dr.Ajay was able to save some more money because of his previous
experiences and the research which he has did before buying the geyser.
Scenario 4
■ Akilesh, a 19 year old boy who recently received his voter ID is in a dilemma to
choose his leader for the upcoming councilor election. Two candidates stood in
the election of which candidate A gave a manifesto In which he had only few
proposals yet productive ideas. Candidate B gave a manifesto full of freebies
such as free TVs, free cable connection, free cycle, free biriyani every
weekend etc. Eventually, Akliesh chose Candidate B as his leader as he was
very much influenced by the freebies provided by him.
Decoding 4
■ Akilesh made a wrong choice by choosing candidate B as his leader whose
freebies are of no potential use to the society.
■ If all people do the same mistake as Akilesh did, candidate B would win the
election whose motive is accomplished but is of no use to the society.
■ If people are wise and think properly about the pros and cons, they would
choose candidate A as their leader and the society may be benefitted.
Scenario 5
■ Mr.Singh a highly popular actor who has influence on all his fans shows support
to a political party which had considerable amount of chances of winning the
election though not the highest, just before the elections are about to take
place. This resulted in the victory of the same political party.
Decoding 5
■ As Mr.Singh showed support to the political party, majority of his followers
who follow him blindly, voted for the same political party and changed the
results of the election.
Conclusion
■ Proper research and futuristic thinking are required to escape from the traps
of business people and political people and choose whatever is required for us
in the most beneficial way and choose the right person for the wellness of the
society.
