Selfhelp is an organization based in New York City that began in 1936 to aid the victims of the Nazi regime. The organization began as a way to build homes, provide clothing and offer support to survivors resettling in the United States. Today, now celebrating its 80th year of service, Selfhelp continues to offer support to nearly 5,200 Holocaust survivors each year, in addition to over 15,000 families and individuals in need.
