I began my professional career by substitute teaching at my home district. It was through this experience that I truly discovered my love for my home town and wanting to give back to it. I began subbing full time upon my graduation from Fisher. In November there became an opening for a Teaching Assistant position. I decided to apply, got an interview and was offered the position ten minutes before Thanksgiving Recess began. I started the following Monday, December 1, 2014. Now that I’ve got my foot in the door and am gaining more experience, the next step, and goal of mine, is to get a full-time classroom teacher position.
