Dawn Johnson currently serves on the Board of
Trustees for the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society, South Central Texas Chapter.
Professionally, she most recently held the role of

Throughout her 20+ year career at USAA,
Dawn was involved in a variety of local charities
and philanthropy work within the local San
Antonio community. That philanthropic
commitment remains a large part of how Dawn
spends her personal time. In particular, Dawn is
devoted to helping the Leukemia and
Lymphoma Society find a cure for blood cancers
and other types of cancers.

As a division of the national Leukemia and Lymphoma Society,
the South Central Texas Chapter supports a variety of national
fundraising efforts that help support the local community. For
example, they sponsor Team in Training, a group of athletes that
participate in large-scale competitions such as marathons,
triathlons, and century cycle rides. The Chapter also organizes
and runs the annual Light the Night walk, an hour-long, after-
dark campaign to raise funds for blood cancers. Walkers in this
event carry illuminated balloons that mark them as survivors,
supporters, or loved ones of those lost.

Furthermore, the South Texas Chapter
participates in the Man and Woman of the Year
campaign. Business and community leaders in
each of the Society's chapters compete for these
awards by raising funds to not only fund blood
cancer research, but honor local children who
have survived blood cancers. The top individuals
that raise the most money in the country
become the National Man and Woman of the
Year.

Furthermore, the South Texas Chapter
participates in the Man and Woman of the Year
