1. What started as a desire to have a taste of home, turned into a
passion to provide others with a sense of community and family
around a table of American comfort food. Founded in 2009 as Full
Expression Cafe, David and LaTonya Whitaker have been
providing catering services and cooking classes around the Kanto
area. Specializing in the area of Southern, Cajun and Tex-Mex,
they work to show true southern hospitality, leaving no hungry
stomachs.
LaTonya is a Mississippi native. Along with the help of her
Atlanta raised husband, David, she currently teaches American
Southern Style cooking using Japanese ingredients for Niki’s
Kitchen www.nikikitchen.com David & LaTonya have done a
cooking show for American Fair at Koshigaya Laketown Mall and
have been featured in Men's Kitchen, Lightning Magazine and
Trinity Magazine to name a few. They have also been featured
on NHK's 50 Voice and TV Tokyo's Getsuyou Puremia~! for
cooking classes. LaTonya has also been featured as a part of the
Ecouma campaign for Ajinomoto.
In 2012, David and LaTonya decided to change Full Expression
to Taste The Love. It was birth out of hope that with every bite
eaten, with every song heard and with every friendship made, you
can have a Taste of Love. Therefore, it is their dream to build
Taste The Love into a cafe that is not just another place, but a
home away from home where everyone can come and listen to
good music, eat good food and feel like family.
