Everyday life in a hospital knows each of us. For children it is particularly difficult when they have to stay for an extended period of time in a clinic. They get bored much more quickly than adults. And above all, they miss a lot of teaching materials that they catch up after being discharge in the school only with difficulty. Several hospitals in Israel have become very good experiences with computer-assisted learning programs that are supervised by teachers; the affinity is naturally used to the computer world, to train the children in various subject areas such as language, mathematics or logic. The hook: teachers, computers and programs cost money, not that the hospitals and the parents can afford alone. I plan, therefore, as a representative of Keren Hayesod, under the motto ”Bike4Israel” in October with the bike from Lhasa (Tibet) to Katmandu (Nepal) to drive. My tour begins at 3,700 meters above sea level and goes up to 5,200 meters. I have chosen this route to attract as much attention and funding for the project – as I believe that I, with you, can do something good for these children who comes from all different classes in Israel, Rich and poor, Jewish or Arab, white or black, than through Education we can reach understanding for another. Therefore I urge you dear friends to support me by donating.
