And sable curls ensilvered o’er with white; / A prata a preta têmpora assedia;
When lofty trees I see barren of leaves, / Quando vejo sem folha o tronco antigo
Which erst from heat did canopy the herd, / Que ao rebanho estendia sombra franca
And summer’s green all girded up in sheaves / E em feixe atado agora o verde trigo
Borne on the bier with white and bristly beard: / Seguir o carro, a barba hirsuta e branca;
Then of thy beauty do I question make / Sobre tua beleza então questiono
That thou among the wastes of time must go, / Que há de sofrer do Tempo a dura prova,
Since sweets and beauties do themselves forsake, / Pois as graças do mundo em abandono
And die as fast as they see others grow; / Morrem ao ver nascendo a graça nova.
And nothing 'gainst time’s scythe can make defence / Contra a foice do Tempo é vão combate
Save breed to brave him when he takes thee hence. / Salvo a prole, que o enfrenta se te abate.

That time of year thou mayst in me behold / Em mim tu podes ver a quadra fria
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang / Em que as folhas, já poucas ou nenhumas,
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold, / Pendem do ramo trêmulo onde havia
Bare ruin'd choirs, where late the sweet birds sang. / Outrora ninhos e gorjeio e plumas.
In me thou see'st the twilight of such Day / Em mim contemplas essa luz que apaga
As after sunset fadeth in the west, / Quando ao poente o dia se faz mudo
Which by and by black night doth take away, / E pouco a pouco a negra noite o traga
Death's second self, that seals up all in rest. / Gêmea da morte, que cancela tudo.
In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire / Em mim tu sentes resplender o fogo
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie, / Que ardia sob as cinzas do passado
As the death-bed whereon it must expire, / E num leito de morte expira logo
Consum'd with that which it was nourish'd by. / Do quanto que o nutriu ora esgotado.
This thou perceiv'st, which makes thy love more strong, / Sabê-lo faz teu amor mais forte

Let me not to the marriage of true minds / De almas sinceras a união sincera
Admit impediments. Love is not Love / Nada há que impeça: amor não é amor
Which alters when it alteration finds, / Se quando encontra obstáculos se altera,
Or bends with the remover to remove: / Ou se vacila ao mínimo temor.
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark / Amor é um marco eterno, dominante,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken; / Que encara a tempestade com bravura;
It is the star to every wandering bark, / É astro que norteia a vela errante
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken. / Cujo valor se ignora, lá na altura.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks / Amor não teme o tempo, muito embora
Within his bending sickle's compass come: / Seu alfanje não poupe a mocidade;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, / Amor não se transforma de hora em hora,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom. / Antes se afirma para a eternidade.
If this be error and upon me proved, / Se isso é falso, e que é falso alguém provou,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved. / Eu não sou poeta, e ninguém nunca amou.
