The United Way of East Central Iowa ran a Facebook sweepstakes promotion from September 27 to October 15 to increase their Facebook likes and collect email addresses. Through the promotion on SourceMedia Group websites and mentions on their Facebook pages, 263 people entered the contest. As a result of the contest, the United Way page gained 241 new likes, bringing their total to 1,084 likes. 144 people opted in to receive emails, a 55% opt-in rate. The contest helped increase reach and engagement on their page.
