15. The Journal of Joshua Loper: A Black Cowboy, by Walter D. Myers Joshua Loper was on the Chisholm Trail in 1871. He died on March 15, 1920. His wife Carrie died on September 2, 1933. Joshua Loper`s journal wasn’t found until his wife died. The book and the journal are both fiction.
