Measuring and marking out the body of my crab
What i did today??
Today we started our project by measuring and
marking the size of our moving toys . i first picked a
tick wood but it was too small so i decided to make
it thin with the thin piece.
After i got the piece i made a circle then made it
into a crab body then i started to make the arms i
had some trouble with it so i decided to only make
one side then I took a ruler and measured in the
other side where it ended so the two arms were
same size and same length ,after i finished
drawing all of the arms and body i decided that i
should start cutting so i made strait lines next to the
curves so then i can cut into a curve with the copping
saw
What tools were used?
I used a metal ruler for marking the lines that I was
going to
I used a circle to make the body but i didn't want a
circle so i made a oval shape
My Emotions while working
My emotions today were proud and happy because i
was doing a good job and i was able to get the arms the same shape i was also happy
because i was nearly going to start to cut
What is next on my project ??
I will cut all of the lines that are near to the round areas
and the arms out then i can use a copping saw to start
cutting out the body and the arms and the front (the
face) .

2. Learner Profile used today
Todays learner profile was knowledgeable because i knew how to use many tools in a
safety way and i was able to make a round shape and i
was able to think how to make the arms all the same size
and shape.

Cutting in straight lines.
What i did today?
Today i finished drawing all
this is me finish drawing the arms
of the details needed
(making the arms and body
shape sound and same size)
I had some trouble so i spend a while in drawing it i made
sure the arms where nearly the same size and the same
shape after that i also made sure that the body of the crab
was oval and round also nearly the same size. Then i
started cutting the I mainly used a tenon saw but i also i This is me using the tenon saw
used a pulling saw for parts where the tenon saw could starting to cut

What tools I used?
I used a tenon saw and a pulling saw.
The tenon saw was used for cutting mainly most of the
parts and for cutting the parts that were small enough for
the tenon saw to cut. This is me using a pull saw to cut
I used the pull saw to finish up mainly all of the parts where i couldn’t cut with the tenon
where the tenon saw didn't cut and also to make my
cutting faster.
My emotions while working
Today my emotions were kind of a relaxed but also rushed
relax because i knew that i would spend not as long as
other students in of time cutting and I was kind of rushed

why i nearly spend two
periods cutting and i have to
cut with more energy than
other projects
What is next on my project ?
Next lesson i will be finishing cutting the other two
parts left then i might start to use the copping saw to
cut off the parts like the arms and the mouth. Also in
the pictures i had taken i can see that the mouth is too
big and is not so oval so i think i will be also fixing that
for it to look more round.

Cutting arms with
copping saw
What i did today?
Today i finished cutting all of the lines I used a pull
saw and a copping saw i had some trouble because it
is hard to cut it I also spend a while Because i cut wrong something so i was cutting to
the arm I had some trouble so i spend a while in cutting those parts Then i started
cutting the arms and the front part using a copping saw i had some trouble because it
kind of my first time using the saw and it a small
part so i was scared to cut something off or if i
made a mistake.

of the round edges and make the arms round and giving them some shape

This is me using a round file to make
Cutting ,sanding and filing my crabʼs arms the arms stand out more
and body
What i did today?
Today i finished cutting a with the cooping saw i cut
really near to the line i cut the top and the arms the
arms where hard because i wanted to keep it same
shape and same size. After that i used he disk sander
to get all extra length after i used the disk sander the
wood was really smooth and it all looked with a nice
shape the arms are too small so i wasn’t able to use the This is me using a half round file

6. disk sander so i had to use files i used a round file a flat file
and a half round file too after i made most of them kind of
roud not sharp i had to make the edge round so its not
spiky and it looks more like a crab
