Comparison of the Two Speeches in Julius Caesar In William Shakespeare's play The Tragedy of
Julius Caesar, two speeches are given to the people of Rome about Caesar's death. In Act 3, Scene
2 of this play Brutus and Antony both try to sway the minds of the Romans toward their views.
Brutus tried to make the people believe he killed Caesar for a noble cause. Antony tried to persuade
the people that the conspirators committed an act of brutality toward Caesar and were traitors. The
effectiveness and ineffectiveness of both Antony's and Brutus's speech to the people are conveyed
through tone and rhetorical devices. Brutus made his speech effective in persuading the people by
using tone and rhetorical devices. Brutus was...show more content...
Brutus tells them people then he had done no more to Caesar than they will do to him. Brutus's
speech was ineffective in giving them reasons for Caesar's ambition. This gave Antony a large gap
to turn the people against Brutus. Brutus told the people to believe him for his honor , and to
respect him for his honor, so that they may believe. He is telling them to believe him for his honor
and not for the reasons he gives. Brutus repeated many times that Caesar was ambitious but never
once said how or why. This left the people with a question in their mind. Antony used the explicit
gap in Brutus's speech to turn the people quickly against Brutus. Antony began his speech with a
detached tone in lines 77 –79 of his speech by saying, "The evil men do lives after them, the good is
oft entered with their bones; so let it be with Caesar." Antony wanted the people to believe he was
impartial toward the situation, therefore, he would speak the truth. Antony put Brutus's honor in
question by telling how Caesar did and gave so much to the people, and yet the honorable Brutus
said he was ambitious. Antony reminded the people Caesar gave the ransom Caesar collected from
prisoners he had captured for the public funds, and wept for his people, and how refused a kingly
crown three times. On lines 113 – 115 a plebeian said, "Mark ye his word? He would not take the
crown, therefore 'tis certain he was not ambitious." showing the people

To Kill A Mockingbird Quotes Integration
Quote Integration Using quotes from the text is an important way to support your ideas. In most
papers, I would expect at least 3–4 really strong quotations used to prove your topic. The important
word in the last sentence is "prove." You do NOT use quotations to establish facts from the story.
You use quotations to PROVE something. For example – I don't need a quotation from the book to
tell me that Tom Robinson is found guilty. I have read To Kill a Mockingbird and I know that he is
found guilty. Be sure you are using quotations not to pad your paper, but to strengthen it. There are a
few different ways to integrate quotations from the text into your writing. Without them, it simply
looks like you are just talking off...show more content...
Colons are used when the sentence is already complete (you could end it with a period); a colon
indicates that what comes after the colon is directly connected to what preceded it. Here is an
example: Scout is constantly complaining about being left behind by Jem and Dill. She expresses
her feelings to Jem as he and Dill are sneaking out to see Boo Radley: "You never let me go
anywhere. If you don't let me go this time I'm gonna tell Atticus on the both of you." She says this to
Jem intending to get him to bring her along. Notice in the previous example that the sentence with
the colon is actually a complete sentence (the colon could be replaced by a period), but putting the
colon there indicates that the quote connects to what was said before the colon (in this case, Scout
expressing herself).
MORE ON THE BACK
–If you have a quote from a text that is going to take up more than four lines, or if you are quoting
multiple lines of dialogue from a text, set the text off by indenting it and NOT using quotation marks
(it should remain double–spaced). Scout is constantly complaining about being left behind by Jem
and Dill. She expresses her feelings as Jem and Dill are sneaking out to see Boo Radley: Jem had
never snuck out for anything before and I was worried. I was also very upset that he wouldn't take
me along with him. It is one thing to be left behind during all of the other adventures, but this was a

1.Do you think Greenspan is being realistic or naive about the possibility of business ethics?
I believe that Greenspan is being realistic about business ethics. In the article, he says that we should
achieve success through work that has honor. Most business men in today's society are honest and
have fair values in mind. But I think the small percentage that are corrupt can taint the true honest
hard working American. Greenspan also mentions in the article that he thinks that achieving success

2c. The Iowa Supreme Court referred to another case involving attorney plagiarism (Iowa Supreme
Court Board of Professional Ethics & Conduct v. Lane). In that case, the punishment for attorney
Lane (suspension of his license to practice) was more severe than the punishment imposed on
attorney Cannon. What distinction did the court make between these two cases? Do you agree with
the court's reasoning?
The distinction between the two cases is that Lane tried to conceal his misconduct. He tries to
deceive the court and then choosing to not respond to the court. I agree with the courts reasoning
because it will teach the person their misconduct is unacceptable and if it happens again they will
barred from practicing law.
2d. The state of Florida requires "personal appearances before the [disciplinary] board for public
reprimands for disciplined lawyers" [italics added]. Do you think this kind of public shaming is too
harsh?
I believe if the board conducts themselves in a professional and honest manner than this sort of
board is not too harsh. The person should have an opportunity to present their side of the story and
to receive direct feedback from multiple people.
3a. Why do you think the AMA publishes this Code? Why not teach medical ethics simply through

Argumentative Essay Quotes
Cabute, Jeanette Anne H.
BSIE–HE 4A
Quotation:
1."Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new
ending." –Maria Robinson
Explanation: Our lives are full of ups and downs. Often we get so caught up with the downs in our
lives that we fall into depression. We feel that everything in life is falling apart. You regret the
choices you've made in the past and feel that you have failed in life. Understand that you cannot go
back in time and undo choices you've made but that you can stop yourself from repeating the past by
making smarter decisions so that you can have a better future.
Reaction: Yes, our life is full of up and downs. We also cannot change the past, but we can make
better things or choices...show more content...
If we try new things we're going to make a few mistakes but we are learning from that mistake. If
you don't make any mistakes, you're in a rut and not trying anything new. Mistakes are part of our
lives, we cannot change it, and we just have to take the risk. Nothing is impossible if we try new
things and nothing will lose if you try right.
4."The heart has its reasons which reason knows not." –Blaise Pascal
Explanation: The heart, the organ capable of storing love can also reason. Its reasoning makes all
the sense in the world to the heart and to the heart's owner when the owner first hears it. It's the
reasoning that makes you fall in love at first sight. It's the reasoning that somehow makes it so hard
to let somebody go even though you have no logical reason to want that person to stay.
Reaction: The quote means that you have to listen to your heart. Just like in love, you just only
knew that you love that person but you don't know why. We fall in love in a mutual weirdness and
called it love.
5."When love is not madness it is not love." –Pedro CalderГіn de la Barca
Explanation: The actual quote is when love is not madness, it is not love, and it is by Pedro
Calderon. Love in its self is madness. Love brings to life so many different emotions that it is like a

We see the quotations everywhere: "Sometimes we have to fall apart so better things can fall
together," attributed to Marilyn Monroe, "Be the change you want to see in the world," attributed
to Gandhi, and "If I knew that I had eight hours to chop a tree down, I would spend the first six
sharpening my axe," attributed to Abraham Lincoln. These quotations are on Facebook profiles, in
pop songs, in school books, and in modern bestsellers. Julius Caesar, Mark Twain, and John Lennon
are some of the more common characters who are often referred to as some of the greatest
word–smiths of all time. The problem is that many of the quotations have been tampered with and
altered throughout history. Many quotations attributed to famous people are, at best, paraphrases –
though often superior to the original. Others might be subtly altered in the retelling, sometimes with
little impact on their effect, but at other times irresponsibly changing the meaning. Of course, many

from The Bible. A perfect example would be the oft–quoted No rest for the wicked. This is actually a

Money is the root of all evil. This is a summary of 1 Timothy 6:10: For the love of money is the
root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced
themselves through with many sorrows. Even the proverb is wrong – "love of money" not money
itself is the root of all evil. A third proverb is Spare the rod, spoil the child. The closest version
found in The Bible is from Proverbs 13:24: He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth
him chasteneth him betimes. These proverbs are definitely close to the original in context, but the
subtle changes and differences move them further from the

Reflective Essay On Plagiarism
I know what plagiarism is and the rules the University has on the honesty policy, however as any
other student could possibly but accidently do I plagiarized when trying to get the project done
before the deadline. I know that plagiarism can be 1 word to 10 words or more, but when rushing to
get so much overwhelming work done it may have been the last thing I was thinking about .
The night of the project deadline, I was working on the project. I was so behind because of other
classes work, so I facetimed my partner for help she was also behind on the project. She gave me
good advice on what I should do. The advice she gave was helpful, but it wasn't helping the time
that was ticking fast. Therefore, we shared our files with each other, so we could have the work
done and turned in on time. In all honesty, Plagiarism didn't cross my mind that night, but now that I
look back, I realize I made a huge mistake. I didn't complete my work, because I was stuck with
other classwork that was difficult and took most of my time. I know that shouldn't be a excuse, but
my spanish, government, and pre–cal classes were taking most of my time. This project was quite
difficult, it took so much reading which made it harder for me to get it done fast along with my
other work. I didn't think that a couple of words would make it seem as if I was trying to copy or
cheat, just was hoping to finish it on time so I could get the grade I needed. I realize now the
importance of using my own words and if I do use another piece of work in mine , I need to cite
where it came from or who it came from in the correct format for the paper assigned . When i was
doing the project I used an outside resource, only to unintentionally plagiarize it . My partners use
of bigger/more educated sounding words and sentences was what made me use them. I needed to
do away with the simple words. So when I used the words she used I didn't think about citing the
information down. I am deeply sorry for this and know that my teacher had to take time out of
their schedule to handle this situation. I will not give a bunch of excuses because there is only 1
true reason and it is the fact that I did not use my time wisely in order to do better about my choice

Essay On Black Lives Matter
Black Lives Matter is an international activist movement that started within the African–American
communities. This movement is organized by Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi. Ever
since the black people have stepped on American soil, they have continued to be victims of racism
and violence. From slavery to lynching to segregation, the black people have suffered alot in this
country. In the past few years, there are so many of them that have been targeted by the law
enforcement authorities across the country. This movement's goal is to raise awareness of racism and
violence against African–Americans. They wants African–American to live with dignity and respect

This video shows how protesters block all lanes of I–94. The police officers gave them twenty five
warning to leave. Yet, some people chose to stay and continue to protest. According to the police,
the protest turned into a riot and some people threw rocks and bottles on the freeway. During this
act of violence, twenty one police officers were injured. In order to cease those protestors, the police
officer used non–irritant smoke and sprayed mace. At the end of the protest, 50 people were arrested
for three degree rioting.
There is usually a protest after an unarmed black person is killed by a police officer. By
protesting, they try to seek attention to shooting of black people by disrupting commerce and
preventing people from commuting to one place to another. After Alton Sterling and Philando
Cartile were shot by a police officer, the Black Lives Matter marched on the streets and blocked
highways in July 2016 in Minnesota. In December 2015, they even disrupt local business on a busy
holiday shopping with peaceful protest. Despite getting warnings, the Black Lives Matter
organization gathered in a Minnesota Mall. They compelled some of the stores to be closed for
hours. They said there will not be any business until they get

Maya Angelou gave hope to the hopeless and inspiration to the world. Through her poems and
stories she has made us realize the role we play, or rather need to start playing. She made a lot of
people get up off there butts and do something about the decaying world which lies around us.
Maya Angelou has given me alone, hope that I can make a difference in our slowly dying world.
Her poems speak about the turmoil our world is in. She encourages us to love, love, and love.

In her poem "Human Family", Angelou says, "We are more alike, my friends,
then we are unlike." Maya's poems, which include "Equality" and "These
yet to be United States", show the pain of humanity and the ignorance of the world. My
favorite poem "Phenomenal Woman" shows what it's like to be a woman now a days.
"I think the most impressive thing about Maya Angelou's poetry is that it is purely honest. It
is able to be graceful and elegant while at the same time, its poignant and true", states Trisha
Ireland a staff writer. I must declare I believe and agree one hundred percent with Ms. Ireland.

Plagiarism: Intellectual Theft
Plagiarism is using the words or ideas of others and presenting them as your own. Plagiarism is a
type of intellectual theft. It can take many forms, from deliberate cheating to accidentally copying
from a source without acknowledgement.
Whenever you use the words or ideas of another person in your work, you must acknowledge where
they came from. You can avoidplagiarism by following the suggestions outlined in this guide.
One of the contradictions of academic writing is that while you are expected to read, research and
refer to experts and authorities, you are also expected to produce 'original' work. However, it is
important to recognise that all scholarship involves understanding, researching, and expanding on

An Analysis Of 'Marks' By Linda Pastan
In the poem "Marks" by Linda Pastan, the speaker stresses the importance of appreciating your loved
ones and understanding the effects of criticism. Through explication, I will demonstrate that the
controlling metaphor shows us that while "marks" may be a measure of performance, they may also
leave "marks."
"My husband gives me an A/for last night's supper" (ll 1–2). At face value, this seems like an
incredibly positive statement. An A is a very good grade and in most situations, a person would be
incredibly pleased with an A. When you delve further into this poem, you find that the speaker is
stating that while her husband gives her an 'A' for supper, it is not an A+, so he is implying that
he feels it is lacking something. Although an 'A' for most is an acceptable grade, for someone
who is slaving over cooking a meal for their family; doing all the preparation for the meal, actually
cooking the meal, and then the following clean up, an A almost seems like a slap in the face. It
initiates the thoughts of "how dare they criticize something they had to put no effort into". It is
offensive, how dare they even mention it was less than perfect, how dare they not be grateful for
something done out of caring, not requirement. "An incomplete for my ironing" (l 3). In this line the
speaker implies that her husband is displeased with the fact that his wife did not complete his
ironing. His ironing. An incomplete? Is it her laundry? Is it her obligation to launder and iron

Argumentative Essay On Plagiarism

If you were asked to picture a plagiarist, what would be the first image to pop into your head?
Would you think of someone lazy, trying to get through with little effort, purposely taking the words
and thoughts of others and hoping to pass them off as their own undetected? Would you picture a
hard working student, doing their best but forgetting to properly document their sources? Or would
you think of someone like a politician, an author, or a journalist who borrowed ideas from others
without crediting them? It does not matter which one you imagined because these are all examples of
plagiarism. What exactly is plagiarism? As students, most have heard about it and have been
cautioned by their instructors to be aware of and avoid plagiarism. But how many people
understand what plagiarism actually consists of? How many know how to avoid plagiarism in
their individual writings? The best way to avoid plagiarism is to be mindful of each aspect of what
would be considered plagiarized work and to know how to properly cite the ideas of others. To
simply define plagiarism would be to say that it is stealing the ideas or words of another and passing
it off as your own ("Plagiarize"). According to the Merriam–Webster Dictionary, "plagiarize comes
from the Latin plagiarius "kidnapper." This word, derived from the Latin plaga (a net used by
hunters to catch game,) extended its meaning in Latin to include a person who stole the words,

Reflection Of The Gospel Of Mark
The gospel of Mark illustrates a captivating story of Jesus by following his lifestyle of ministry,
discipleship, and crucifixion. The primary sources of reference that flashes back to the most
imperative moments of Jesus life and his disciples are found in this book. The gospel of Luke and
Matthew most likely obtain their information about Jesus by looking into the book of Mark as well.
Interestingly enough, Jesus nor his disciples left any writing behind regarding the events that they
underwent. It was John Mark, whom many say to have known Peter (one of Jesus' disciples), as the
one who had written the story of Jesus and his crucifixion. Therefore, the information we obtain in
the gospel of Mark is referenced through the lenses of this...show more content...
As Jesus performed miracles and focused on his ministries in Galilee, he also calls upon his first
disciples. 17 Jesus said to them, "Come, follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. 18
Immediately they left their nets and followed Him" (Mark 1: 17–18). This tells me that God needed
a team to help him spread the gospel of Christ. If Jesus is who He says He is, why would he need
the help of others? Especially, if those individuals that He had chosen were always confused or had a
lack of understanding of who He was or is? 41 They feared greatly and said to one another, "What
kind of Man is He, that even the wind and the sea obey Him" (Mark 4: 41)? How about the time
Jesus heard about the twelve–year–old girl who was presumed dead? As soon as Jesus heard about
this, people laughed at Him when He mentioned that the little girl was just asleep not dead.
However, great were their astonishments when Jesus declared the little girl to awake and she did.
Nonetheless, what catches more my attention is the statement Jesus made right after, 43 "He
strictly ordered them to let no one know" (Mark 5:43). Now if you were Jesus why would you tell
people not to talk about the miracles you have performed? Wouldn't you want people to acknowledge
you or talk about the astonishing performances you did to help them? But then I thought, wait,
people may not interpret His actions with that level of appreciation. We all know

Satire Of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is when you copy someone else's work. It is also when you take credit for someone else's
work that is not yours. You can be fined for plagiarism. It is a felony. So don't get caught plagiarizing.
A punishment for plagiarizing is you can destroy your student reputation. Also you could ruin your
professional reputation. You could also be expelled from school for plagiarizing. People who
plagiarize could face fines they have to pay. They could also face jail time.
I feel like plagiarism is dumb. Why can't people just come up with their own work? Are they really
that lazy? My thought is don't ever plagiarize. It's not worth it.

Quoting, Paraphrasing, and Summarizing
Research papers (research essays) must include information from sources. This is called synthesizing
or integrating your sources.
There are three ways to incorporate information from other sources into your paper: quoting,
paraphrasing, and summarizing. Good research papers should include at least quoting and
paraphrasing and preferably also summarizing. The method you choose depends on which is the best
way to make the point you are trying to make in using that particular information from the source. It
is very important to remember that even if you are not using the exact words of the author as when
you paraphrase or summarize, you must give a source citation.
Every sentence with information from a...show more content...
Quotations should only be used in paraphrases when there are special words or wording that cannot
be paraphrased. Because the same information that the author provided is being used, a paraphrase
is often as long as the original source. Since paraphrases are information from a source, every
sentence with paraphrased information must cite the source even if exact words are not quoted.
Even through a sentence with paraphrased information must cite the source, any exact words from
the source must be in quotation marks. Failing to use quotation marks on exact words is plagiarism
even if the sentence give credit to the source.
Proper notetaking while doing research will help avoid plagiarism. Notes should include quotation
marks around any exact words taken from sources.
Another problem students may have with paraphrasing is that the language used in the paraphrase
should be an accurate accounting of the source's ideas. Good paraphrasing doesn't just capture the
ideas of the source. They don't include your own opinions or omit important information. Just like in
a quotation, be sure to either introduce the source at the beginning of your paraphrase or cite the
source at the end of the sentence so that the reader knows these are not your ideas, but ideas from

Yes because it leaves a gesture hope and, it shows your intimacy.
In the essay by Leslie Jamison, "Mark My Words, Maybe" She communicates to her audience about
getting this tattoo to represent a new era for her after an emotional breakup. The tattoo being "homo
sum: humani nil a me alienum puto" or in English translation, "I am human: nothing human is alien
to me." Jamison talks about how she felt as deserving as any other for the pain that she has felt
during the relationship. As the essay reads on, Jamison deals with the conflict of interest from others
based on the meaning of her tattoo. She also goes about her thought process for finding the true
meaning of her tattoo.
Uniquely, Jamison's tattoo leaves a gesture of hope. "I was branding myself to mark a new era: my
body was no longer entwined with someone else's" (Jamison page ##) In saying this she inscribes

Plagiarism: Discussion Questions
Question Define plagiarism in your own words. What do you think plagiarism means? Illustrate
your discussion with hypothetical examples. Why is plagiarism a serious problem? What is your
opinion of the impact of the Internet and all its resources on academic integrity? How can
plagiarism be avoided? One definition of plagiarism is that it is "theft of intellectual property."
Do you agree with this assessment? Why or why not? What suggestions would you offer to
eliminate both inadvertent and deliberate plagiarism? Plagiarism is incorrectly attributing words
or concepts to your own inventiveness, without giving appropriate credit to the originator of
those words or ideas. The most obvious example of plagiarism is copying the words of others
without inserting a footnote, endnote, or other form of citation in a research paper. Professional
journalists and writers as well as students have been found guilty of plagiarism, when they
incorporated the words of others into their prose, and did not give credit to the original source.
Merely changing one or two words does not absolve someone of plagiarism. It is also plagiarism if
you paraphrase the words or ideas of an author and do not give that person appropriate credit. It is
more difficult to identify plagiarism regarding paraphrasing or the ownership of ideas (versus
directly–quoted words). What constitutes an 'original' idea is often hotly debated. For example,
Shakespeare seldom used original plots. The author of the

Quotation Marks In Essays

  • 1. Comparison of the Two Speeches in Julius Caesar In William Shakespeare's play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, two speeches are given to the people of Rome about Caesar's death. In Act 3, Scene 2 of this play Brutus and Antony both try to sway the minds of the Romans toward their views. Brutus tried to make the people believe he killed Caesar for a noble cause. Antony tried to persuade the people that the conspirators committed an act of brutality toward Caesar and were traitors. The effectiveness and ineffectiveness of both Antony's and Brutus's speech to the people are conveyed through tone and rhetorical devices. Brutus made his speech effective in persuading the people by using tone and rhetorical devices. Brutus was...show more content... Brutus tells them people then he had done no more to Caesar than they will do to him. Brutus's speech was ineffective in giving them reasons for Caesar's ambition. This gave Antony a large gap to turn the people against Brutus. Brutus told the people to believe him for his honor , and to respect him for his honor, so that they may believe. He is telling them to believe him for his honor and not for the reasons he gives. Brutus repeated many times that Caesar was ambitious but never once said how or why. This left the people with a question in their mind. Antony used the explicit gap in Brutus's speech to turn the people quickly against Brutus. Antony began his speech with a detached tone in lines 77 –79 of his speech by saying, "The evil men do lives after them, the good is oft entered with their bones; so let it be with Caesar." Antony wanted the people to believe he was impartial toward the situation, therefore, he would speak the truth. Antony put Brutus's honor in question by telling how Caesar did and gave so much to the people, and yet the honorable Brutus said he was ambitious. Antony reminded the people Caesar gave the ransom Caesar collected from prisoners he had captured for the public funds, and wept for his people, and how refused a kingly crown three times. On lines 113 – 115 a plebeian said, "Mark ye his word? He would not take the crown, therefore 'tis certain he was not ambitious." showing the people Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. To Kill A Mockingbird Quotes Integration Quote Integration Using quotes from the text is an important way to support your ideas. In most papers, I would expect at least 3–4 really strong quotations used to prove your topic. The important word in the last sentence is "prove." You do NOT use quotations to establish facts from the story. You use quotations to PROVE something. For example – I don't need a quotation from the book to tell me that Tom Robinson is found guilty. I have read To Kill a Mockingbird and I know that he is found guilty. Be sure you are using quotations not to pad your paper, but to strengthen it. There are a few different ways to integrate quotations from the text into your writing. Without them, it simply looks like you are just talking off...show more content... Colons are used when the sentence is already complete (you could end it with a period); a colon indicates that what comes after the colon is directly connected to what preceded it. Here is an example: Scout is constantly complaining about being left behind by Jem and Dill. She expresses her feelings to Jem as he and Dill are sneaking out to see Boo Radley: "You never let me go anywhere. If you don't let me go this time I'm gonna tell Atticus on the both of you." She says this to Jem intending to get him to bring her along. Notice in the previous example that the sentence with the colon is actually a complete sentence (the colon could be replaced by a period), but putting the colon there indicates that the quote connects to what was said before the colon (in this case, Scout expressing herself). MORE ON THE BACK –If you have a quote from a text that is going to take up more than four lines, or if you are quoting multiple lines of dialogue from a text, set the text off by indenting it and NOT using quotation marks (it should remain double–spaced). Scout is constantly complaining about being left behind by Jem and Dill. She expresses her feelings as Jem and Dill are sneaking out to see Boo Radley: Jem had never snuck out for anything before and I was worried. I was also very upset that he wouldn't take me along with him. It is one thing to be left behind during all of the other adventures, but this was a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Questions On Academic Integrity Seminar Cameron Rudasill Academic integrity seminar "I do honest work. The words in this exercise will be mine, unless other sources are clearly identified." Cameron Rudasill from Stevenson University 1.Do you think Greenspan is being realistic or naive about the possibility of business ethics? I believe that Greenspan is being realistic about business ethics. In the article, he says that we should achieve success through work that has honor. Most business men in today's society are honest and have fair values in mind. But I think the small percentage that are corrupt can taint the true honest hard working American. Greenspan also mentions in the article that he thinks that achieving success through honest work and dedication it will give a...show more content... 2c. The Iowa Supreme Court referred to another case involving attorney plagiarism (Iowa Supreme Court Board of Professional Ethics & Conduct v. Lane). In that case, the punishment for attorney Lane (suspension of his license to practice) was more severe than the punishment imposed on attorney Cannon. What distinction did the court make between these two cases? Do you agree with the court's reasoning? The distinction between the two cases is that Lane tried to conceal his misconduct. He tries to deceive the court and then choosing to not respond to the court. I agree with the courts reasoning because it will teach the person their misconduct is unacceptable and if it happens again they will barred from practicing law. 2d. The state of Florida requires "personal appearances before the [disciplinary] board for public reprimands for disciplined lawyers" [italics added]. Do you think this kind of public shaming is too harsh? I believe if the board conducts themselves in a professional and honest manner than this sort of board is not too harsh. The person should have an opportunity to present their side of the story and to receive direct feedback from multiple people. 3a. Why do you think the AMA publishes this Code? BSIE–HE 4A Quotation: 1."Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending." –Maria Robinson Explanation: Our lives are full of ups and downs. Often we get so caught up with the downs in our lives that we fall into depression. We feel that everything in life is falling apart. You regret the choices you've made in the past and feel that you have failed in life. Understand that you cannot go back in time and undo choices you've made but that you can stop yourself from repeating the past by making smarter decisions so that you can have a better future. Nothing is impossible if we try new things and nothing will lose if you try right. 4."The heart has its reasons which reason knows not." –Blaise Pascal Explanation: The heart, the organ capable of storing love can also reason. Its reasoning makes all the sense in the world to the heart and to the heart's owner when the owner first hears it. It's the reasoning that makes you fall in love at first sight. It's the reasoning that somehow makes it so hard to let somebody go even though you have no logical reason to want that person to stay. Reaction: The quote means that you have to listen to your heart. Just like in love, you just only knew that you love that person but you don't know why. We fall in love in a mutual weirdness and called it love. 5."When love is not madness it is not love." –Pedro CalderГіn de la Barca Explanation: The actual quote is when love is not madness, it is not love, and it is by Pedro Calderon. • 5. We see the quotations everywhere: "Sometimes we have to fall apart so better things can fall together," attributed to Marilyn Monroe, "Be the change you want to see in the world," attributed to Gandhi, and "If I knew that I had eight hours to chop a tree down, I would spend the first six sharpening my axe," attributed to Abraham Lincoln. These quotations are on Facebook profiles, in pop songs, in school books, and in modern bestsellers. Julius Caesar, Mark Twain, and John Lennon are some of the more common characters who are often referred to as some of the greatest word–smiths of all time. The problem is that many of the quotations have been tampered with and altered throughout history. Many quotations attributed to famous people are, at best, paraphrases – though often superior to the original. Others might be subtly altered in the retelling, sometimes with little impact on their effect, but at other times irresponsibly changing the meaning. Of course, many people think that it is a lot...show more content... . . of time. We all know that many of the quotes and potables that are always espoused are often from The Bible. A perfect example would be the oft–quoted No rest for the wicked. This is actually a paraphrase of Isaiah 57:21: There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. Another proverb is Money is the root of all evil. This is a summary of 1 Timothy 6:10: For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Even the proverb is wrong – "love of money" not money itself is the root of all evil. A third proverb is Spare the rod, spoil the child. The closest version found in The Bible is from Proverbs 13:24: He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. These proverbs are definitely close to the original in context, but the subtle changes and differences move them further from the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Reflective Essay On Plagiarism I know what plagiarism is and the rules the University has on the honesty policy, however as any other student could possibly but accidently do I plagiarized when trying to get the project done before the deadline. I know that plagiarism can be 1 word to 10 words or more, but when rushing to get so much overwhelming work done it may have been the last thing I was thinking about . The night of the project deadline, I was working on the project. I was so behind because of other classes work, so I facetimed my partner for help she was also behind on the project. She gave me good advice on what I should do. The advice she gave was helpful, but it wasn't helping the time that was ticking fast. Therefore, we shared our files with each other, so we could have the work done and turned in on time. In all honesty, Plagiarism didn't cross my mind that night, but now that I look back, I realize I made a huge mistake. I didn't complete my work, because I was stuck with other classwork that was difficult and took most of my time. I know that shouldn't be a excuse, but my spanish, government, and pre–cal classes were taking most of my time. This project was quite difficult, it took so much reading which made it harder for me to get it done fast along with my other work. I didn't think that a couple of words would make it seem as if I was trying to copy or cheat, just was hoping to finish it on time so I could get the grade I needed. I realize now the importance of using my own words and if I do use another piece of work in mine , I need to cite where it came from or who it came from in the correct format for the paper assigned . When i was doing the project I used an outside resource, only to unintentionally plagiarize it . My partners use of bigger/more educated sounding words and sentences was what made me use them. I needed to do away with the simple words. So when I used the words she used I didn't think about citing the information down. I am deeply sorry for this and know that my teacher had to take time out of their schedule to handle this situation. I will not give a bunch of excuses because there is only 1 true reason and it is the fact that I did not use my time wisely in order to do better about my choice Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In order to cease those protestors, the police officer used non–irritant smoke and sprayed mace. At the end of the protest, 50 people were arrested for three degree rioting. There is usually a protest after an unarmed black person is killed by a police officer. By protesting, they try to seek attention to shooting of black people by disrupting commerce and preventing people from commuting to one place to another. After Alton Sterling and Philando Cartile were shot by a police officer, the Black Lives Matter marched on the streets and blocked highways in July 2016 in Minnesota. In December 2015, they even disrupt local business on a busy holiday shopping with peaceful protest. Despite getting warnings, the Black Lives Matter organization gathered in a Minnesota Mall. She made a lot of people get up off there butts and do something about the decaying world which lies around us. Maya Angelou has given me alone, hope that I can make a difference in our slowly dying world. Her poems speak about the turmoil our world is in. She encourages us to love, love, and love. It can take many forms, from deliberate cheating to accidentally copying from a source without acknowledgement. Whenever you use the words or ideas of another person in your work, you must acknowledge where they came from. You can avoidplagiarism by following the suggestions outlined in this guide. • 12. An Analysis Of 'Marks' By Linda Pastan In the poem "Marks" by Linda Pastan, the speaker stresses the importance of appreciating your loved ones and understanding the effects of criticism. Through explication, I will demonstrate that the controlling metaphor shows us that while "marks" may be a measure of performance, they may also leave "marks." "My husband gives me an A/for last night's supper" (ll 1–2). At face value, this seems like an incredibly positive statement. An A is a very good grade and in most situations, a person would be incredibly pleased with an A. When you delve further into this poem, you find that the speaker is stating that while her husband gives her an 'A' for supper, it is not an A+, so he is implying that he feels it is lacking something. Although an 'A' for most is an acceptable grade, for someone who is slaving over cooking a meal for their family; doing all the preparation for the meal, actually cooking the meal, and then the following clean up, an A almost seems like a slap in the face. It initiates the thoughts of "how dare they criticize something they had to put no effort into". It is offensive, how dare they even mention it was less than perfect, how dare they not be grateful for something done out of caring, not requirement. "An incomplete for my ironing" (l 3). In this line the speaker implies that her husband is displeased with the fact that his wife did not complete his ironing. His ironing. An incomplete? Is it her laundry? Is it her obligation to launder and iron Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Argumentative Essay On Plagiarism Bloemker If you were asked to picture a plagiarist, what would be the first image to pop into your head? Would you think of someone lazy, trying to get through with little effort, purposely taking the words and thoughts of others and hoping to pass them off as their own undetected? Would you picture a hard working student, doing their best but forgetting to properly document their sources? Or would you think of someone like a politician, an author, or a journalist who borrowed ideas from others without crediting them? It does not matter which one you imagined because these are all examples of plagiarism. What exactly is plagiarism? As students, most have heard about it and have been cautioned by their instructors to be aware of and avoid plagiarism. But how many people understand what plagiarism actually consists of? How many know how to avoid plagiarism in their individual writings? The best way to avoid plagiarism is to be mindful of each aspect of what would be considered plagiarized work and to know how to properly cite the ideas of others. To simply define plagiarism would be to say that it is stealing the ideas or words of another and passing it off as your own ("Plagiarize"). According to the Merriam–Webster Dictionary, "plagiarize comes from the Latin plagiarius "kidnapper." This word, derived from the Latin plaga (a net used by hunters to catch game,) extended its meaning in Latin to include a person who stole the words, rather than the children, of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Reflection Of The Gospel Of Mark The gospel of Mark illustrates a captivating story of Jesus by following his lifestyle of ministry, discipleship, and crucifixion. The primary sources of reference that flashes back to the most imperative moments of Jesus life and his disciples are found in this book. The gospel of Luke and Matthew most likely obtain their information about Jesus by looking into the book of Mark as well. Interestingly enough, Jesus nor his disciples left any writing behind regarding the events that they underwent. It was John Mark, whom many say to have known Peter (one of Jesus' disciples), as the one who had written the story of Jesus and his crucifixion. Therefore, the information we obtain in the gospel of Mark is referenced through the lenses of this...show more content... As Jesus performed miracles and focused on his ministries in Galilee, he also calls upon his first disciples. 17 Jesus said to them, "Come, follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. 18 Immediately they left their nets and followed Him" (Mark 1: 17–18). This tells me that God needed a team to help him spread the gospel of Christ. If Jesus is who He says He is, why would he need the help of others? Especially, if those individuals that He had chosen were always confused or had a lack of understanding of who He was or is? 41 They feared greatly and said to one another, "What kind of Man is He, that even the wind and the sea obey Him" (Mark 4: 41)? How about the time Jesus heard about the twelve–year–old girl who was presumed dead? As soon as Jesus heard about this, people laughed at Him when He mentioned that the little girl was just asleep not dead. However, great were their astonishments when Jesus declared the little girl to awake and she did. Nonetheless, what catches more my attention is the statement Jesus made right after, 43 "He strictly ordered them to let no one know" (Mark 5:43). Now if you were Jesus why would you tell people not to talk about the miracles you have performed? Wouldn't you want people to acknowledge you or talk about the astonishing performances you did to help them? But then I thought, wait, people may not interpret His actions with that level of appreciation. We all know Get more content on HelpWriting.net

When students are paraphrasing, which means boiling down the phrases into their own words, the idea from the original source must also be given proper credit. This means that the student should correctly cite, and put quotations around the text that was used, so that the reader can go back and find the citation and the context it was used in the original text. • 18. Quoting, Paraphrasing, and Summarizing Research papers (research essays) must include information from sources. This is called synthesizing or integrating your sources. There are three ways to incorporate information from other sources into your paper: quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing. Good research papers should include at least quoting and paraphrasing and preferably also summarizing. The method you choose depends on which is the best way to make the point you are trying to make in using that particular information from the source. It is very important to remember that even if you are not using the exact words of the author as when you paraphrase or summarize, you must give a source citation. Every sentence with information from a...show more content... Quotations should only be used in paraphrases when there are special words or wording that cannot be paraphrased. Because the same information that the author provided is being used, a paraphrase is often as long as the original source. Since paraphrases are information from a source, every sentence with paraphrased information must cite the source even if exact words are not quoted. Even through a sentence with paraphrased information must cite the source, any exact words from the source must be in quotation marks. Failing to use quotation marks on exact words is plagiarism even if the sentence give credit to the source. Proper notetaking while doing research will help avoid plagiarism. Notes should include quotation marks around any exact words taken from sources. Another problem students may have with paraphrasing is that the language used in the paraphrase should be an accurate accounting of the source's ideas. Good paraphrasing doesn't just capture the ideas of the source. They don't include your own opinions or omit important information. Just like in a quotation, be sure to either introduce the source at the beginning of your paraphrase or cite the source at the end of the sentence so that the reader knows these are not your ideas, but ideas from your Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Why is plagiarism a serious problem? What is your opinion of the impact of the Internet and all its resources on academic integrity? How can plagiarism be avoided? One definition of plagiarism is that it is "theft of intellectual property." Do you agree with this assessment? Why or why not? What suggestions would you offer to eliminate both inadvertent and deliberate plagiarism? Plagiarism is incorrectly attributing words or concepts to your own inventiveness, without giving appropriate credit to the originator of those words or ideas. The most obvious example of plagiarism is copying the words of others without inserting a footnote, endnote, or other form of citation in a research paper. Professional journalists and writers as well as students have been found guilty of plagiarism, when they incorporated the words of others into their prose, and did not give credit to the original source. Merely changing one or two words does not absolve someone of plagiarism. It is also plagiarism if you paraphrase the words or ideas of an author and do not give that person appropriate credit. It is more difficult to identify plagiarism regarding paraphrasing or the ownership of ideas (versus directly–quoted words). What constitutes an 'original' idea is often hotly debated. For example, Shakespeare seldom used original plots. The author of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
