INTRODUCTION
Informal resources are the services that are available in the society in a free and easily accessible
manner. These services can be utilized by anyone who is willing to use them with belief that they
will benefit from them.These resources include family, friends, community members and the church.
Formal resources are those services which have to be paid for in order for people to utilize them.
Payment may be done by the individuals themselves or by the government. Examples include
schools, health services and security services.
This essay seeks to discuss the informal and formal resources which are available to me.

A family is a group a group of people related by blood, adoption or assimilation. Nobody can deny
the fact that nothing as important as a family. Family is a bond, a long lasting relationship between

Formal Learning And Informal Learning Essay
Learning is the process of gaining knowledge about various issues that affects our lives and
wellbeing. The learning takes place each and every day of our lives at any place and time. There
are two ways in which learning takes place. There is the formal learning and informal learning. In

Deviance And Formal Deviance Within The Workplace
Deviance is defined as, recognized violations of cultural norms. There are two types of deviance,
formal deviance and informal deviance. Formal deviance, or a crime, is described as a criminal
violation of formally–enacted laws, examples include robbery, theft, rape, murder, and assault.
Informal deviance is a violation of informal social norms, which have not been codified into law
people declare these activities as deviance, examples of this would be nose–picking, belching loudly,
or standing unnecessarily close to someone. Deviance is important to society, because without it
people would not have any manners. If there was not any formal deviance people would think

Education is very essential in life no matter what age you are. Every day is a new learning
experience, and the possibilities are endless. We are all different people with different mindsets and
life experiences. But, we do not need traditional schooling to further our experiences in education.

pursue a successful career that they are passionate about. Higher education is beneficial because
no matter what you choose to do it will always be there to back you up in the future. Having a
college degree can help you with financial stability as well. But, in today's world, does having a
college degree mean you can get any job at any given place or time? Not always will you find jobs
that need certain degrees to be placed in jobs. Many places prefer no degree than having one. Some

Grammar is a set of language rules and system. There are various types of grammar. Descriptive
grammar is the rules that English speakers follow. Whereas, prescriptive grammar is the textbook
rules in order to write and speak correctly. For example, the sentence I didn't go nowhere. is correct
in descriptive grammar but incorrect in prescriptive grammar. "The part of the grammar that
concerns the structure of phrases and sentences is called syntax. Rules of grammar determine how
morphemes and words can combine to express a specific meaning" (Fromkin, & Rodman, 1998).

Communication plays a crucial part of any organization. The way an organization communicates can
determine how efficiently its members or employees work together. During my time as an employee
of Trinity I noticed the communication was informal. This is a big reason there were so many
misunderstandings.The other employees usually spent half their shift talking about other personal
subjects. Informal communication is more open and certainly has its place within an organization as
it enables employees to address each other on a more casual level. There are still rules for informal
communication. For example, it is always important to be kind and considerate even when
communicating informally. Formal communication can flow both vertically and horizontally.
Informal communication, on the other hand, involves unsanctioned informal communications
between organizational members and can flow in any direction. At Trinity, the kind of informal
communication we used most often was "grapevine" communication. It is a complex web of oral
information flow linking all the members of the organization. There was no order to the way we

The different types of communication that we used at Trinity was verbal, as in spoken. At Trinity
everyone work 12 hour shifts so talking was the only way to make the time pass quickly. The other
type was non–verbal as in using sign language, body movements, facial expressions, gestures, eye
contact or even with the tone of voice. There were a lot of non verbal communication during work.
People would have secret conversation without saying a word. We weren't able to use cell phones
therefore a majority of the day was spent communicating in one of these two types of ways. I
remember the verbal communication style more than the non–verbal. Both styles had negative
effects but the verbal communication's negative effects were more noticeable. Common elements of
negative communication include rumors, misinformation, misinterpretation, inaccurate information
and employee slander. Sometimes these elements can be purposely initiated, for example, employee
slander. Other elements occur unintentionally, such as unknowingly relying inaccurate information.

In A Landscape was quite interesting. I chose to analyze this piece as apposed to the others
because it was the piece I liked the least, therefore making me analyze it more closely and discover
other aspects of the work, besides aesthetics.
The texture of the canvas works very well with the subject matter portrayed in the painting. The
grassy hill side and the leaves of the trees are especially complimented by the canvas. It makes the
leaves feel like they are slightly moving, this combined with the lack of detail itself the leaves. This

smaller as they descend into the painting. This painting is an example of linear perspective. All lines
converge at a vanishing point.
At first sight the house in the middle ground appears to be the destination of the rider, but the use of
linear perspective suggests that something else is important beyond the house and the green hill.
This painting appears to take place either at either dusk or dawn, when the sun is at the horizon.
Likely it is dusk, as the setting appears to be in the Northern Hemisphere and the snow in the

setting in the west, or on the right. So the viewer, as well as the subject, is facing south. This affects
the painting in several ways. The lighting is very dramatic, the middle ground being very much
more lighted than the foreground and background, therefore the colors are more saturated than the

Research is a process of collecting data and information on a specific topic. The purpose is to use
the data and information to prove that the findings may or not agree with the claims. The difference
between informal and formal research is the type of information collected. Informal research methods
use nonscientific method to conduct their data, such as searching through company's files, seeking
colleagues' opinion, interviewing the target audience, and conducting a survey. On the other hand,
formal research uses scientific methods to conduct their data and it uses up–to–date sources, such as

Before this class, I was terrified of writing papers. In high school we did not write that much and
when we did, we were expected to know how to do it. My teachers never went into as much depth
and detail as we did in this class. Writing in general was one of my biggest challenges coming into
this class. In class we had to write reflections about ourselves and our week in class. I would
always struggle with these because I would never know what to write about or how to start it.
However, I got more comfortable with formal writing. I felt more comfortable with these because it
was like following a formula. With the formal papers, I had directions and with those I was able
to find a topic and execute the paper more easily. This reflected in my grades as well because, I
would get higher grades on the formal papers and lower grades on my reflections. I am going to
demonstrate how I struggled on the reflection journals and did not struggle on the formal writing
assignments. I succeeded more in the formal writing because we learned ways to make the writing
easier. One thing that helped was outlining. In class we learned that "prewriting builds cohesion and
coherence of the body of the essay" (Appendix I). Outlining helps you organize your paper and see if
all of your ideas connect with each other. (Appendix I). Before this class, I would never make an
outline and all of my papers were incoherent and sloppy. This process helped me to become more

During the whole process of designing the IMC plan for HP Sprocket in this semester, I have
earned valuable experience about teamwork, and I have learned lessons not only from class, but
also from the whole working process. First of all, I have to admit that this group is one of the best
groups I've ever had, I used to think that only failed experience helps people learn and grow.
However, this time in a well–organised group, I found that I was wrong, positive experience
contributes as well. This essay will reflect what I have learned, and it will be mainly divided into
two parts: academic reflection and experiential reflection.
Academic Reflection
In an IMC plan, separate segment needs to cooperate with each other through organisational
communications in order to ensure that audiences can receive a same key message from different
channels (Ots and Nyilasy 2015, 134–135). Personally, I feel it is perfectly understandable as a
first–time IMC practitioner. In this group work, because we do not have much time to discuss the
"Big Idea" at the very beginning, we decided to divide the work first and then combine them
together to find out the "Big Idea". However, I found that I cannot come up with useful strategies
without effectively communicating with my teammates about our goal for this plan. After we have
finished our first draft and uploaded it to Google Drive, we all agreed that this is a weak plan,
because the messages we try to deliver in each piece do not have much in common.
