2. Copy these –ER and –IR verbs
in your Steno pad.
 leer= to read
 ver= to see
 correr= to run
 aprender=to learn
 comprender= to understand
 escribir= to write
 vivir= to live
 abrir= to open

3. We know that these are –ER verbs
because the infinitive ends with -ER
 comer > leer > beber > aprender
 To conjugate these verbs, you must first remove
the -ER ending.
 The part that is left is called the STEM.
 comer com- > comprender comprend-
 beber beb- > leer le-

4. So, how do we use the verb
in a sentence?
 You must find the STEM and then add the
appropriate endings to match each subject!
 Copy these endings for –ER verbs.

Tú -es Vosotros -éis

-e
Ellas
-en
Ud.
Uds.

6. VER (to see) is irregular in the
YO form.

• No accent mark in the vosotros form.
